Liz, I put your carb counts next to your list

Hi, here is my meal plan for the day

Egg quiche (card deck)  (?) (Not sure what was in your Quiche but count each jumbo egg as 1 net carb each, If you use only egg whites the carbs count is .5)
Salsa 2 T  (2)
Sour Cream 2T (0)

Water

Skirt Steak thin -- (2 card decks)
1/2 broccoli -- tried to eat more but was full  (6.6)    (if you mean 1/2 cup it's a net 2 not 6.6)
1 T butter (0)
Diet Rite 12 oz (0)

atkins chocolate coconut bar (2N) (don't use the Atkins bars, make Umpa's brownies instead using Zero. I've never trusted their labels)

Doug and Umpa

Thank you for the carb info -- I forgot about the fiber on the broccoli....I'll try Umpa's brownies...my brain is switching over to FTS from other (and all depending on the day) LC diet plans....so net carbs it is, and I do have FTS zero in my cupboard.

Umpa -- Because I work nights and sleep days when I get up I eat, and then eat (afternoon), and then only eat again when I'm hungry.  And I was full that day -- very full, and it was 10:00 p.m. so I didn't eat more.

And great news -- the scale dropped from 277 to 274.....so stall is BYE BYE....for now.

If you take a circle and divide it into sixth's then I can shade 1/6th of that circle, because I'm down 1/6th of journey.

Here's what I ate on Sunday (and it wasn't very much but I wasn't hungry.)

Morning:  Steak (card deck) and slice of bacon (in hurry to get to church)
Late morning:   Steak (2 card deks)  (in hurry to get to sleep again).  1 T catsup (will get LC catsup soon).
Evening:  Salad and broccoli (did not measure this), just ate until full.
Lots of water.  Went to bookstore and Whole Foods reading about LC (saw your RED book on the shelves).

I was full after eating this way.

I know this above was not a good FTS day, but I was running between church music obligations, trying to get more sleep, helping elderly mother, etc.  It was a day literally I wasn't caring what I ate, but just a eating to live day.

Again, I appreciate your input, and in honor of the time you spend (and in honor of myself and health goals) I will now get up and GO TO THE GYM!  Hug.

That's great, Elizabeth!!! :) :) :) :) :)

But I'm with Umpa.
It does not look like your eating very much.

But by the same token, if you're body is satisfied with that amount and frequency, then go forth with it!

Just remember that the goal isn't to eat as little as possible.  The goal is to eat low carb foods that satisfy your hunger and give you enough variety that you don't have cravings while keeping your daily net carbs under 20.

I agree that doesn't look like I'm eating enough but to eat more would be to keep eating when I'm not hungry.  I do think its because of my wake sleep cycles being different. I suspect I will be hungrier now that I'm going to the gym. I did bodybuilding with a trainer YEARS ago.  I'm going to train like that again, and that will increase the food intake.

Fabulous on your loss Elizabeth!!  I could be wrong but I am pretty sure the Zero needs to be kept in the fridge.  I keep mine in the fridge.

Hi, Elizabeth! :)

Have you changed you daily sleep - wake routine recently?
If so, your body will interpret that as lack of sleep and slow (or stop) your progress.
Our bodies do not like changes.
That's why consistent sleep cycles are CRITICAL to consistent weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) progress.

Exercise helps keep us healthy and will foster weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) progress by boosting the metabolism.
But the metabolism will "boost" only so far, no matter how hard or often we exercise.
That's why it's not the most effective way to lose weight (http://www.fattoskinny.com/).

You got that right my friend :-)
If you don't sleep enough that can set you back. If you don't feel hungry with the amount of food you eat then you are eating according to your body's needs and you're doing well. Great job managing your challenging day and still doing your best 8)

I agree so much about the sleep.....I work in a field that requries me to work at night....I've worked different shifts over the last 20 years....and I think things might change sometime in this next year that will put me on a more normal shift but until this happens, I sleep the best I can.  I do make it a priority, and once in a while something will just happen where I cannot get to sleep.  I do have some sleep issues and have a sleep doctor.  And I've put the whole job situation in my heavenly Father's hands...and until He changes my vocation, or shift, this is what I'm doing....

Also, in some respects it is currently helping me with FTS....I wake up about 1:30 and get ready for work, pack my food up and eat about 3:30 for the first time, then I work, and if I get hungry, I get in the cooler and drag out my salad, or soup, or have a meat/cheese roll-up, or strawberries, etc....I don't eat when I'm not hungry, and sometimes by the time it is late at night if I'm not hungry, I just have some herbal tea, and call it good for the day.....then I'm home about 2:30 a.m., and go to sleep about 4:00 a.m.....so here lately I'm sleeping or working, and not really in eating frenzy mode (plus it helps on FTS I'm not walking around like a shark looking for a seal anyway :-)

And....I'm down again to 273.5

And I've been so busy I've not been writing down my food.....

But here is food for today, Saturday....

Up at 1:00 and NOT HUNGRY at all....went to friend's house to practice singing/music for church tomorrow...

Home at 4:00 and NOT hungry, but had bacon and eggs.....

Then about 5:30 had some strawberries.....with shipped cream.

Then decided to cook artichokes (WITH BUTTER).

And had a ground hamburger patty.....and a diet coke.....

And that's it for the day...I would eat again, but I'm not hungry.

-------------
Yesterday Friday I had
LARGE Salad with tuna, vinegar and oil dressing

A couple of cheese sticks.....strawberries.....

you know that's not enough food.... you're right...

Okay, adjustment time....I'm on days off for next couple days and will make out a food plan and make run it through the Fitday software and make sure I'm getting enough food....and I'll post my plan here....and then I'll make sure I'm taking enough with me to work.

Thanks friends!

Hi, Joanne! :)

It's always nice hearing from you! :) :) :)

As one turtle to another, by keep the faith and staying the course with FTS, we help insure that we are healthier.
And the weight will take care of itself if we keep on following the FTS rules.

It's been an interesting Winter around here this year.
This is the first year we have not seen much snow (maybe 3 days of a couple inches at most).
But I drink this in knowing that a very bad Winter will be here again likely next year.

I just hope the bugs (especially mosquitoes) aren't bad this Summer.
