English Trifle

have you got a low sugar version of trifle...put jelly in a dish, add fruit ..let it set, custard on top...let it set..then whipped cream..then sprinkles..there you have a trifle...i love trifle..xx

You can have it.There are plenty of sugar free jellies or you can make your own,fruit-use berries,custard you can make, whipping cream is a zero.Do you need a custard recipe or do you have one?

This is the easiest one i have ever found.Let me know how you do.I actually read about a rhubarb custard I will see if I can find it for you bev

Easy baked custard with nutmeg.
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
•2 cups whipping cream
•2 eggs
•1/8 teaspoon salt
•2 tablespoons xylitol or sugar replacement
•nutmeg
Preparation:
Beat together milk, eggs, salt, and xylitol. Pour into custard cups; place cups in a pan with hot water nearly to top of custard line. Sprinkle each with nutmeg and bake at 325° for about 40 to 55 minutes, until custard is set. This really depends on depth of the baking dish. A knife inserted in center should come out clean. Makes 4 to 6, depending on size.

 ;D to make an english trifle you use jelly/jello on bottom of a dish..add fruit.let set..pour cooled custard on to the top ..let set..then add whipped cream and sprinkles...let cool in fridge..its a wonderful dessert if you make it right..i just wanted to know how to make it low carb..the type of custard i use you can get in a can but its high carb..i was thinking of using a diabetic custard...i can get hold of that...have you eaten english trifle?..its very moorish i used to eat big helpings of it...

What about the filling for Dougs cheesecake recipe? (in book) it has a custardy taste to it, You could try that. He might have a video on the website. Cant recall

it seems ok i'll give it a go ..if i can find vanilla.. i may have to use vanilla essence...and i may try soya milk.. eggs..and i'm going to use a xylitol product...xx

THAT HAS TO BE COOKED LIKE CUSTARD BECAUSE OF THE EGGS.I DON'T THINK THATS THE ANSWER.LET ME SEE WHAT I CAN FIND BEV
