Hi, Gang! :)
Some of you may have already heard about this, but I thought it was worthwhile to share with everyone.
It's a good thing we limit our sugar and eat high protein and fat (within reason of course!). ;)

WARNING!!!... Please share this with your doctor BEFORE changing anything about the meds you may be taking!

Wow, Tony! Great find.

Excellent article, thank you for posting it

I gotta get this guy a copy of dougs new book :)

I agree, Umpa! :)
The doctor is close... But he could be a lot closer to the real solution for diabetics.
However, I'm happy to see a cardiovascular surgeon stepping up to the plate to challenge "Big Pharma" and the status quo.
If more follow him moving in this direction, they will figure it out.
Although his dietary recommendations are not FTS compliant, for some people with heart issues will likely find themselves healthier.
However, for those of us who've become obese and have insulin resistance problems, heart issues or not... FTS is THE way!!!
If you send the good doctor a copy of Doug's book, please let us know what he has to say. :)

Thanks for the information! I really needed to read this. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
-
Thanks Tony
It really is an eye opener!

Excellent article! Very nice to see scientists and doctors admitting they were wrong.

Thank you for sharing this article Tony... ;D

Tony is da bomb! ;D

Aw shucks... ::)

Thanks for this article mouseissue Tony. I need to show it to a lot of friends and family. Loosing weight the FTS way doesn't feel like you're being "punished" enough for it to be safe and legitimate. It will take a lot of "truth" from Drs. etc. to get people to accept that we've been a "lied to" generation. My Dad used to eat the fat on the edges of his steak and pork. We used to say how unfair it was, that he was in such good shape. His life was cut short at 87 from pneumonia. At 87 though, he lived an active life, the same as when he was much younger minus work AND there was no dementia of any kind. I think he was a testament to the info in the article. Thanks again, Catznflwrz
-
Hi catznflwrz! :)
I too eat the edges of my steaks and pork chops.
It takes far more energy to digest and metabolize the fat than sugars or starches.
Your dad reaching 87 years of age is wonderful!
I hope the Good Lord allows me to live as long.
My dad reached 83 despite not eating well and drinking a bit too much.
So I guess, Lord willing, I have a shot. ;)

Isn't this the truth? If I'm not starving or working out every day then somehow, I'm doing it "wrong" and it "won't work". I'm kinda ticked >:( that when I try to wrap my mind around the LC way of life, I still hear the rhetoric I have been exposed to for a very long time. Even when I was "thin" (which was always off and on, but not "on" for long) I always still had some stomach "pooch" that just wouldn't leave. I feel like I'm breaking from an addiction to both carbs and propaganda!
P.S. I sent this article to my Mom. The Dr. put her on statins, which I don't like.

wow Tony thanks much for sharing.... very interesting.

You're very welcome, Rosie! :) :) :)

This is one of the best articles in a long time. I've read the scientific ones for years, but a current one from a doctor who has changed his thinking is pure gold...and he explains it simply like Doug explained 'sugar' in his book.
Thank you,
Ann
-
I love Doug's explanation of sugar. Its' a really easy visual to look at so-called "healthy" options and see sugar. I look at things that way now. As someone who teaching public speaking (for now) for a living, I can attest to the power of solid but simple visual aids. They are highly effective and make the point very well.

The kids love the sugar video! They all say the same thing,GROSS!!!!! Kids love gross stuff :D

20 years ago I went through quadruple bypass surgery. I have done exceptionally well.
After the surgery I went through cardiac rehab. We met with doctors, dieticians, nutritionists and did controlled exersice. One thing that was pointed out was that we can do all we can to make our lives "heart healthy' but, realistically, we can only control 15 to 20 % of it. The rest is heredity. Why is this never mentioned ?
Another interesting point was when a heart surgeon pointed out that when he had to do what he called a redo within five years it usually was on people that were dumb enough to pick up the cigarettes again !
-
Twenty years is fantastic! And now with FATTOSKINNY you won't have those pesky sugars irritating/inflaming your arteries/entire body either.
And Welcome to Fat To Skinny, too...from another newbie.
All the best,
Ann

Great find, Shawn! :) :) :)
Our health providers should be shown this video in school.
Perhaps then, the incidence of type II diabetes in our society would drop as quickly as it rose.
BTW, late last week, I went in to my doctor for an annual check up.
All my blood work numbers were well within normal limits WITHOUT any MEDS!!!
Before FTS, I they were terrible!... He (and I) are very thrilled! ;D ;D ;D
This is thanks to the FTS lifestyle! :) :) :)

My older daughter searched online and we read articles that say the BMI charts for adults are not healthy weight needed for older adults (Seniors).
Here is one:
http://www.livestrong.com/article/305703-the-ideal-weight-for-older-people/ (http://www.livestrong.com/article/305703-the-ideal-weight-for-older-people/)
I'm not going to be 60 for 6 more years but I am going to stay where I am, I love how I look at this weight. My BMI is 26.1 and i'm staying put and eat eat health foods from recipes from Fat to Skinny!!!
Paying it forward is such a blessing from you, so what I'm doing now by telling everyone I know about this forum, the truth about sugar and giving links to the videos on here about sugar.
