General Discussion / Re: Fat to Skinny Bucket List

Wear a nice pair of jeans with a belt and a tucked in shirt.  When I was younger and had a figure I took that for granted.

General Discussion / Beating The Holiday Bulge
« on: November 23, 2013, 09:31:57 PM »
Thanksgiving is almost apon us and so is Christmas and I was thinking...why should I gain 20 pounds over the holidays when I can lose that much by New Years with Fat to Skinny and a low carb lifestyle.  It is common sense and I know I have been successful in the past and can again if I simply apply myself.  So I looked around the kitchen to see what low carb staples I have in the fridge and freezer to get me by until I have a trip to the market....I found low carb ham and cheese, eggs and some philly steak as well as some sardines and some kippers.  I can do this and will do this starting Sunday the 24th.  24 is the size that I am now.  I will oficially weigh myself in the morning and figure after all of the birthday red velvet cake that I have been eating weigh somewhere between 302 or 3 pounds.  I am excited about losing weight over the holidays and well into the New Year.  I am hoping that by my birthday next year I will be healthier and happier. Here's to beating the holiday bulge!  :)

I feel less bloated and have more energy...I have a wide assortment of teas that I drink hot and cold.  I really love my FTS Zero in my tea though.

Luzianne Green Iced Tea is now my beverage of choice.  I buy it decafinated in a family size box of 24 tea bags.  I gave up drinking diet soda a month ago.  Maybe it is FTS but I can really tell a difference in my waist.  They say that drinking green tea helps to speed up your metabolism and burn fat.  I have been sweetening it with FTS Zero sweetner.  I bought my tea at Food Lion.  You should really give it a try.  I feel so much better not drinking so much diet soda. :)

TabyTaby why don't you request a carb counter book for 50 posts.  That will make it simple to keep up with. It will be on your computer whenever you need it.  It is real easy to go overboard when you eat caulimash.  It is just so good.  You are doing excellent with your weight loss.  Keep up the great work!

I am not fortunate enough to have that selection where I shop.  Maybe I should look online.  Thank you.

I have always loved sardines and find the quality of them has declined in the stores.  I tried some Look's Atlantic Premium Sardines  Fillets in Cracked Pepper today and absolutely loved them.  I purchased them at Big Lots and bought the last three tins of them that they had.  Maybe there are some suggestions as to really good sardines on the market today.

I am glad you like the recipe.  Keep up the great weight loss.  I have been making alot of bacon lettuce and tomatos lately.  I find me a juicy little tomato from the garden and fry up some turkey bacon...peel and slice my tomato on some romaine lettuce leaves and salt and pepper and add some dukes mayo....then I roll it up.  It's messy but so good.  Keep posting and losing with FTS :)

It is almost time for a snack and I plan on making one of my favorites....all I do is take two tablespoons of cream cheese...Check the carb counts for one that is low...a packet of artificial sweetner... and a few sprinkles of cinnamon and stir together.  I  heat up a GG brancrisp in the microwave for 20 seconds and smear the yummy goodness on top.  It would also be good on a one minute muffin.  I am off to make my snack. :)

Thank you Umpa :)...I have discovered that I can eat better by going to the market and checking out the meat specials as opposed to hitting up a fast food restaurant or getting take out somewhere.  The food is much better and alot more satisfying.  Not only am I losing weight but I am saving money as well.  Thinking things through as opposed to acting on impulse helps alot.  I can survive detox, it gets easier every day.

Blessed with an abundance of peppers again this summer...will be schlepping to big lots to find a bargain on tuna.  I might even try this recipe with homemade chicken salad for some variety.

I made July the 4th the day that I officially got back on track because I want to be free.  Being obese is like being in a prison of sorts and by Next July 4th I want to be a healthy size. Instead of hotdogs and chips...I stir fryed some chuck steak and peppers and onions.  I also enjoyed some decaf ice tea I brewed and made with FTS zero.  My pepper steak was a hit.  This time there is no going back for me.  My favorite meals are low carb.  I know that I can be successful and look forward to watching my scale go down and stay down.  I hope that everyone enjoyed the holiday.
