Am I doing something wrong?
« on: March 10, 2011, 12:33:30 PM »
I am a little frustrated I just weighed myself (week 2) and I only lost 2 lbs!  Wow, that was a far cry from the 9 lbs I lost the first week.  What am I doing wrong?  I posted my meal plans, I drink lots of water and ride my bike at least 6 miles a day.

I don't eat until around noon because I am not hungry until then.

Please advise me??

Be happy that is 1 pound more then I lost in my first 2 weeks !!!  Weight  loss will slow especially for us women ,you just have  to stay the course . You may not lose any next week the drop 5 the next .

Doug says STAY OFF THE SCALE ,weigh eveyr 2 weeks !

Have a good Day !!!

Normally, the initial weight you lost when first starting any diet, or change of eating plan, is water weight. It takes longer to lose body fat. Sounds like you're doing well so far, so just keep doing what you've been doing. Good luck!

Don't worry!  :)
This is how it works for the majority of people starting the FTS lifestyle.

The first weight loss (in the first week or two) is mostly water with a little fat.
This is typical during the "sugar detox" period.
After you've detoxed, then much more fat than water is lost.

Don't count on consistently losing 2 pounds a week.
For the majority of folks, there are weeks with less, weeks with more, and weeks with none at all.
What you do today is what matters!

I've been at 13lbs. for two weeks now.  Somtimes I go up 2 sometimes I go down 2.  (I don't change my ticker when it goes up ;))

But I started on February 13 and I figure by march 13 I should be down another 2.  That's 15lbs in a month!   :o
I'm happy with that. It would have taken me 6 months or longer to lose 20lb  when I was not following FTS

We love the first week,  the pounds seem  to melt off. (9 my first week).  Just stay the course, learn about food and their contents and you will see this lifestyle will continue to work.

I did.  I thought it might kick my butt to get it back down again.

I was wondering about that and thought maybe you changed your goal up a few more pounds. You are so close! How exciting for you!  8)

Since someone mentioned it.  Ladies do you go up 2 lbs at the TOM?  I usually do.

Also,  we are to only weigh ourselves every two weeks?
DO OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO TRY.

My first month on FTS I didn't weigh in at all. I was afraid if I didn't see a change I wouldn't continue. Maybe hold off weighing a bit and let yourself get use to the new eating program??

I'm kinda surprised that no one said anything about not eating until noon....I thought that if you held off eating then your body goes into starvation mode and hangs onto every calorie to protect itself...

No, eat when you are hungry. We were talking on that board about women who when the gain weight they will starve themselves and eat nothing for days .Which doesn't work because if the body doesn't get food regularly it will hold on to the weight if it doesn't know when the next meal is coming. It will protect itself from starvation.
