I found unsweetened coconut at the health food store in town and also at Whole Foods. I used liquid stevia instead of xylitol but no other substitutions from the recipe and when I added it all up, I got 3570 calories and 42.6 carbs, divide that by 8 slices and you have 446 per slice and 5.3 carbs.

I was thinking the same Gary, I can do without sweets anyway, and would rather use the carbs for protein and vegies, but everyone is different I guess.

I can't believe you only use 5 for the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK 1st off i dont subscribe to the breakfast, lunch, dinner thing:) i only eat when i am hungry:) today i just had coffee(i am arguing Doug's 1 carb per cup) then i worked out for 1 1/2 hrs on the boflex, walked for a bit, and for "lunch" i had some salami & cheese roll-ups:) and we are headed out for a nite on the town, which i anticipate will lead to a salad topped with blackened chicken:) i just am so  into FTS that i consider a challenge from the time i get up,till the time i go to bed, i refuse to be defeated in my quest for good health:) and i will never let sugar back into my life....... i have noticed that FAT people keep trying to get me to "cheat" but i am never going to let that happen!!!!!!!!! i am forever committed to this:)

Gary you should be so proud of your achievements.
I had my first challenge last night as it was my stepdaughter's birthday and we went out for supper.

I chose a salmon fillet and a caesar salad with no croutons.  A couple of weeks ago, I would have thought it would not have filled me up, but it did, absolutely.

I feel I have conquered another obstacle, eating out!

Yay me!

Oceanblue walk away from calorie counts they will only confuse you.Stay under 20 carbs a day and you will do great! This recipe is meant as a treat when you have the extra carbs to spend.Cheesecakes are great to make , slice and freeze. That way when you want it  you have it.There are other cheesecakes on the recipe board that may be more to your liking. ;)

I simply was responding to the question asked as to how many carbs were in it. I should not have posted the calories. Mea Culpa

I can vouch for Maddysmom's cheesecake! She gave me a slice of it on Saturday and it was lip smacking good! I gave her one of my brownies!
