Chocolate Ice Cream *Ice Cream Maker Needed*

4 squares unsweetened bakers chocolate
3 cups heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Chop or grate bakers chocolate in food processor.
Add xylitol to food processor with chocolate. Mix well.
Put almond milk in a microwave safe container uncovered in microwave for 4 minutes until hot.(*has to be hot enough to melt chocolate.)

Pour in medium size bowl and let cool completely.
Once cool pour in heavy whipping cream and vanilla and chill 2 hours.

Umpa, Do you think substituting for the bakers chocolate with Hershey's
Sugar Free Syrup to color/flavor the unsweetened almond milk would work?  Also, would I need to add the xylitol if I like the flavor of the Hershey's sugar free syrup in the unsweetened almond milk?  Making these changes would also drop the carb count.  Just curious!  Thanks for your advice!

Well the hersheys syrup does have sorbitol so it could make for an unhappy tummy. the xylitol doesnt do this.

i say experiment! i never met a bowl of ice cream I didn't like! The key to good ice cream is fat content.I have used the almond milk before 50-50 with whipping cream and it does a great job!

I found unsweetened chocolate almond milk at Publix today. It has the same carbs as vanilla so I don't have to add SF chocolate syrup. This will save a few carbs. yay
