Desserts and Sweets / Re: Low Carb Maple Pecan Pie
« on: February 20, 2012, 09:50:21 AM »
Did I learn something over the last few days, beside being a
Fishin' Fool I am also a self taught Geek,
(I read a lot and like to build things like radios and puters)

So after a lot of research it seems that there are two(2) places
that claim the title of Pecan Capital

San Saba, Texas
Albany, Georgia

Georgia is number 1 in pecan tonnage, Texas is number 2

Thanks for y'alls input and keep making them Pecan Pies

(MissyBelle loves the filling, spits out the pecan pieces,
Princess nope she'll eat the pie crust in a heart beat though)

I need a bigger freezer (LOL)

Can anybody answer this question
Where is the Pecan Capital of the world ?

Answer to follow later.

BTW young lady this is a outstanding recipe, it will be
very hard for me to cut a pie like this in 8 pieces however.
One great thing for me is it freezes perfectly.

always get the right answers"

Already working, thanks, looks like when I move the next
place has got to have a bigger freezer and a microwave.

General Discussion / The Single Low Carb Life Style
« on: February 18, 2012, 10:01:30 PM »
Whether by choice, chance or destiny many of the FTS family live the single
life. We enjoy no arguments over TV shows, movies to watch, which side
of the bed, is the seat to be left up or down and 100's of other small matters
of discussion between partners. Some I miss for sure others oh well.

The item of this post is a simple one your ideas how to use FTS to a sngle
person's best advantage. I'm not talking about the ends and outs of the
meals, they stand by themselves as excellent and wholesome, but ideas
like can be found right here
http://www.mydailymoment.com/recipes/omelet_in_a_bag.php as and
example. I'm going to test these to see if I can freeze this "Omelet in a Bag"
and have ready instantly for breakfast a big advantage to a single person.
To cut to the chase, you my FTS family have a wealth of knowledge and
ideas , let me hear a few I and other singles would appreciate them very
much.

Girly Girl Talk / Re: No energy - what's up?
« on: February 18, 2012, 08:29:19 AM »
Morning Everybody,

When I started this journey getting off the popsoda wagon was
ruff and I mean ruff. I had a diet coke with every meal except breakfast
and more between meals it was a habit I didn't need. It's funny how
things work out sometimes tho fer the better. In 2008 or round abouts
there, I got so thirsty I couldn't drink enough of anything, I was moving
from a pre-diabetic to full blown Type-ll diabetic. I was shopping at the
Costco in Jacksonville and saw this stuff called Fruit2O , I looked at the
label and it was 0 carbs and 0 calories. I bought a case of 24 bottles
and never went back to diet anything (ok a diet Dr. Pepper everyonce in a while)

You can get it a Costco/Sams most of the time as a case or in Palatka
at the Publix in smaller sixpacks(I get the grape flavors), this is one them
there "Don't take away some without replacing it with something better things"
here is their link(just found out what a link was)  http://www.fruit2o.com

Check it out IMHO , it was a game changer fer me.

Y'all have a great day,

Even a blind hog finds a acorn sometimes.

Thanks for the kind words, I wish you would
tell my dogs that.

Sweeties,

Let me tell you about anxiety. You lose 80 lbs, pickup two heavy grocery
bags (one in each hand) then get half way across the Publix parking lot and
start to feel your jeans sliding pass where your behind used da stop them
and not wondering if in walking slower or stopping is the right thing to do to
save your dignity.

Now thats anxiety

Howdy Y'all,

Buford here, during my trip from 285 to 198 this morning, I stalled out
more than my neighbors old 52 Plymouth Sedan. Every time I had to eat more
of the good stuff I call it. I added more good meats and fresh greens I love collards
with that there vinegar/pepper sauce in the little bottle, always started with a salad
with a no carb/low carb dressing did this until I started down again. I never set a
time limit , my scale told me when I could add things back in.

I found the times I stalled out were usually after a BBQ at a friends or a fish fry
so now I watch real careful what I fill my plate with at this things.

Worked for me, hope you find this helpful.

Like UMPA said you have to get back in detox before you can start back down
but if you add instead of subtract good low carb stuff it will happen a lots quicker
IMHO.

Looks like you love ham, nature other white meat they say and also
green beans ain't a bad idea either. Well, I just so have a tip from a fellar
that you might like. He's got a YouTube video about cooking my kinda
ham and green beans. Now he calls that
"Southern Fried Pork Chops and Green Beans" let me tell these things are
so good and easy to fix.

Here is the link to that there video::

Howdy from the Banks of the St. Johns River,

Welcome to the forum, you will find these folks to be
as friendly and understanding as any on earth. I have
yo-yo'ed up to 290 down to 185, then up again more times
than I can remember, put another way I have gained and lose
a me at least 4 times in my life. It can be done and FTS and these
here folks are your number supporters and fans when you do.

Howdy Sweeties,  ;D

Buford here, I am a Type ll diabetic. The VA folks told me about now
on three years ago. They put me on Metformin and Glybride(Don't have bottles)
so I might have spelled them wrong. At the time of my first blood test my BS was
459 and I was drinking water like I had been in the desert for a month.

Now for the rest of the story, nothing has changed my BS level as much as
low carb eating and FTS is the easiest of all the ways I have found to stay
where I need to be. The big plus to me was 85lbs of gut and butt are now history.
My BS without any meds this morning was 95 (goes from 85 to 120) during the
day according to what I eat. Now if I stick to Doug's half plate plan it stays under
100. I don't make two plates (I'm a ole fart and live with my girls "LCD",
LCD=Low Carb Dogs, they love it.) I put half of every meal in a freezer bag right
away. This works for me and I have a freezer full of meals to have the next day,
week or whenever.

Diabeties can be cured and I mean cured IMHO, with life style and FTS is the
best of the best to get you there.

Thanks a bunch, Buford

irons in the fire ain't it ??

Somewhar I got a list of Southern sayings and now y'all have got me hunting
fer'em.  I would be real proud to add all the new ones y'all send in. Now to that there
