What are your favorite low carb grocery store snacks & treats?
I love breyers carbsmart fudge bars!! I want to try gg bran crackers. :-)
-
I love cheddar flavored pork rinds and they're 0 carbs, but I've found that I can't find them everywhere, like at my Mom's in Florida. There are mostly plain pork rinds and spicy ones and I don't care for either!
I also love putting pepperoni on a slice of cheddar cheese and wrap it up for an easy, yummy 0 carb snack!
If you have a microwave close at hand, find some 0 carb roast beef lunch meat, put freshly shredded (by you) cheese on them, roll them up, secure with a toothpick and microwave for about 30 sec. and enjoy a yummy warm snack for 0 carbs!!! ;D

Hi Thinisin! :)
My favs are almonds, pecans, peanuts, pepperoni sticks, hard boiled eggs, string cheese, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds (to name a few). ;)

Doug talked to the owner of GG Brancrisp and he is no longer selling in US( he was bought out by a company in Sweden)he is sending us samples of his new crackers.I will post as soon as I get them.If you can still find them they are wicked expensive. ;)

OH, NO!!!... :o :o :o :o :o :o
I'm getting low and was about ready to order another case!
I've been enjoying these almost EVERY morning with some cream cheese & low carb PB with my vitamins as long as I can remember.
Not to mention, as a snack with sardines & mustard, as treat with cream cheese and 50-50 LC jelly, etc., etc..
Guess I need to find a good substitute very soon! :'( :'( :'(
I suppose I could make a LC substitute here at home.
But I sure liked the convenience and the high fiber of GG Brancrisps!
They REALLY grow on you over time!

Just got an idea!... ::)
Maybe taking GG Fiber Sprinkles that are still for sale in the U.S. (for now) and make homemade GGs! ;D
Not sure how I'd do this, though.
Hey Umpa!... Maybe you would give this a shot!... PLEASE!!! ;D ::) ;D

What do you guys think of Torani syrups?
All the other snacks you mentioned sound great! Thank you!!! :)

Thanks, Thinisin! :)
I saw them there too. But there much more expensive at Amazon.
Last time I bought these, I got 30 packages (a case) for $69.50 (no tax & including shipping) from GG.
Netrition.com still carries them.
I just placed an order for a case today ($74.99 + $4.95 S&H) while they're still available.
Tony
BTW, Torani SF syrups are really good!!! :) :) :)
And so are Starbucks. ;)
-
Hi all! I've discovered to be careful with the syrups though! I recently stopped in Cost Plus World Market to pick up some Torani and was shocked to find that some of their sugar-frees now list 1 carb!!! AAAHHH!! I guess 1 carb isn't bad, but I ended up trying some new flavors because of it lol :D
-
i just ordered a case Tony thanks. I will be getting the samples of the new crackers. I like the sprinkles i use them for pie crust and flavor them for trailmix but have never tried to make crackers. ;)
-
Thanks mouse issue!! I'll order from netrition. How many do you eat for breakfast and what do you put on it? Thanks!! :)
-
Also, I bought & tried the La Tortilla garlic & herb tortillas. Y.U.M.!!!! :-D I cut them in half for a snack. A whole one has 4 net carbs. Better than a real tortilla, IMO! :)

Cut those up (I just use a pizza cutter) and bake them (at about 350) for a bit (about 5-10 minutes.....watch so they don't burn) and you have some yummy chips to enjoy ;D ;D
-
Great idea! I wonder how they would taste as a mini pizza with tomatoes & basil on top? :D

I am currently hooked on shelled sunflower seeds. Davidson sells these little bags or pre-shelled that the whole bag has 3 carbs. I love them, keep the bag with me and it's my snack through out the day. Yummy, Yummy!
-
This is a snack that I sometimes use for a meal. I take low sodium zero carb pepperoni and a slice of 0 carb cheese ....place the pepperoni on a plate and break up the slice of cheese into small pieces and nuke in the microwave for 1 min. Real quick in a pinch.
-
Thanks TooSweet - I will have to give them a try! :)
-
Hi Sherripie! How goes the real estate? Have you met Chella yet? :)

Hi Sher! :)
Just remember, you did not get gain your weight overnight... It took time!
Allow your body time to shed those pounds at a healthy (not speedy) rate.
While following the FTS rules, find something else to focus on.
Obsessing about weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) (or anything else) won't help you at all.
Life's far too short!
Enjoy the blessings of life each day. :)

In my opinion, there are two important milestones in the FTS journey.
The first is getting going. Deciding to "try" low carb living.
The second is finding peace in the process and understanding that FTS is a lifestyle.
Notice that reaching your goal weight is not on the list. My personal revelation that I was never abandoining low carb living was a bigger event than reaching goal.

That's the key to lifelong success with FTS!
Thank you for sharing that wonderful insight, Andrea! :) :) :)

That's what I tell everyone too. This is a lifestyle, not a diet. Much like a vegan is vigilant with what they eat, we FTS'ers stay true to our lifestyle and it all works out.

using the tortilla as a mini pizza is a great idea -- thanks....i think i'll try that tomorrow....
I'm going to make some chips RIGHT NOW!
