Title: Chompies Carb Not Bread- Multigrain
Post by: TexasTwinMama on August 09, 2011, 10:18:50 AM
When I was at Sprouts the other day, I found this bread. It is 1 net carb per slice, so I thought I would give it a shot.
Pros: It has a decent taste to it, and it is very chewy, which is good for those of us who normally "inhale" our bread  ;D
Cons: The chewiness of this bread also means that the texture was different from what I was expecting, so it had a slightly weird "mouth feel" to it
Overall: Although it is more expensive than making bread, and the texture does take some geting used to, I think this is a worthwhile product for those wanting sliced bread who do not have the time to make their own.

I looked the label and I calculate 2.5 net carbs per slice  8)

I don't see any sugar alcohols on this label, only carbs and fiber. You would subtract the fiber from the carbs to get the net carb number. If sugar alcohols were present you would subtract those to but in this case they are not in th product.

Thanks Doug, I must have had a total brain freeze... I have no clue why I said 1 net carb when that is obviously wrong :)
