I'm 5'1" and size 10-12, 142 lbs. Now I measure 40-29.5-40. My thighs no long touch when I walk or stand. When I go down to my goal of 135 I hope to stay this size.

You will do it and maintain it. Just continue to eat this way ;)

great article.  a woman once told me that "when you lose weight (http://www.fattoskinny.com/), you're going to hate the way you look.  OLD!"  I thought, geez, can I get there first? lol  but I see what you're saying Doug.  Find your happy weight.  It's also great to have a spouse that lets you know what they see.  I'll keep this in mind as I reach the weight I think I want to be.  thank you for sharing :)

Umpa and I were talking about this just yesterday. We have a neighbor who always obsesses with her weight. I think she weighs in between 105-110...she's 62 years old and completely covered in deep wrinkles, all skin and bones. She really needs to put about 20-30 pounds on her body but each to his/her own  :-\ I just hope she doesn't get the flu this year!

Why don't they have a healthy weight chart for over 40 or 50? I definitely do not want to be too thin.

Here is a photo Mary took of me a couple days ago. I'm wearing a short sheath.

Here is what my skin looks like. Took the photo outside in my car while waiting for Food Bank to open.

Hi, Susie! :)

No two of us are alike.
Those weight charts will mess up people that do not have an "average body".

Never trust those charts or BMI tables!
They will lead many of us to the "wrong place"! :-\

When I was about 28, I weighed what those charts said I should for my age and height.
But I looked gaunt with sunken cheeks and underweight. I also felt weak and lethargic.

Find that weight where you look AND feel good!
Then you'll know you've found YOUR ideal weight! :) :) :)

Tony

I am discovering that the charts for weight & BMI are no good for me at this age. Thanks.
