Title: Newbie alert!
Post by: jen1975 on March 19, 2011, 08:21:21 AM
Hi all!  New to the site, new to the book.  I just switched doctors and my new doctor strongly recommended I check the book out.  I am intrigued, and more importantly, it makes sense to me!  I am trying to get my low carb options in place before I start, hoping that helps with my transition.  I've been reading here and there in the community and have to say I am amazed!  I've never seen such an active community with such a strong support system in both the people posting and the moderaters.  Doug and Umpa I'm looking forward to having lots of silly questions (that you've probably answered a hundred times)!  Thank you to everyone!  I can do this!

Hi Jen!  Welcome to the forum!   I really love it here, and it's great to be able to talk with nice, caring people who are all on the same journey.   I was excited to read that your doctor suggested FTS to you!   My physician is very happy with my being on this program as well!   I think the medical community is starting to catch on!!!
Be sure to check out the GREAT recipes!!  :)

Welcome to the family, Jen. Ask any questions you need to ask. Be sure to read the book. Then, read it again! Every time I read it, I find new little tidbits that I missed the first, second, or third time.

Welcome to the family, jen1975! :) :) :) :) :) :)

I'm happy to hear you found a doctor that understands how we overweight and obese folks with insulin sensitivity problems respond to carbohydrates.

My doctor only recently came to understand how it works for folks like me! And he's been practicing medicine for over 30 years.
Well I guess, practice does make perfect! ;)

If you have any questions, concerns, or just need a little support, we are here for you! :) :) :)

Hey Jen,

Yes, I had some mild headache, lack of concentration feelings. Coming to the end of the third week , I've been feeling good for most of this week. The plan actually seems to be getting easier as I progress.

Hang in there, you'll feel better soon, and it just gets better!!
