Title: Heading into week 4
Post by: chella on August 26, 2012, 04:02:29 PM
Well here I am heading into week 4. I am feeling fantastic. I am eating about 3 times a day. I have virtually quit snacking between meals, I just don't seem to be hungry anymore. My joints aren't aching like they were 3 weeks ago. I seem to be able to think more clearly. I have more energy and I am no longer winded by just walking across the room. Oh Yeah, and I am down 30 pounds  :) :) :) :) Did I mention that I got to eat coconut cheesecake for dessert last night and woke up this morning with a 3 pound weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/). To me, this is so amazing. I have struggled always.. I am 42 and I have been on one diet or another since about age 5. This is the first program ever that I can honestly say. "I can do this, I can eat like this forever" I can also say with confidence, that it does not matter how long it takes me to get there. There is now no doubt in my mind that I will get there. Thank you Doug and Umpa for helping me unlock this prison door. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hi!.
Good to know you are progressing so well. I am also 42 and have been from one diet to another. I had an accident few years back and lying in bed with rods in my foot meant TV and food became my best friend. Once I got up work was a prtority and I could not shake off the food habit. Now with fts I am doing so well. It can fit with my busy lifestyle. I am extremly motivated and have started regular exercise. You will soon see immense benifits same way as I saw them.
All the best.

How did you lose 30 pounds so fast in one month? Do you eat same thing everyday or ???  I lost 9 pounds in two weeks.  I wish I could lose more -  guess I am not patience which I'm trying to be.  lol Also, where did you buy coconut cheesecake and what brand is it?

Not I'm not eating the same things everyday, I am definitely trying to mix it up so I don't get bored. We actually used the recipe from doug and umpa fts bakery cookbook.  Oh and if you happen to see this Umpa, it was delicious. I think we might try the berry crumble next. Thank you all for you well wishes. The encouragement is greatly appreciated. I am so thrilled to have found this lifestyle/forum/support group.

I like your plan of not snacking!! Still find I get the munches, probably because I'm tired. Been waking up at 6 am to get my little one to school. A little trickier sticking to my plan than normal.

Hi Thinisin! :)

Most of us need 7 to 8 hours sleep each night.
Sleep deprivation can cause "false hunger" and trigger carb cravings.

If we're "sleep deprived", we'll not only be tired, but we can slow (or stop) our progress too!

Try getting to bed a bit earlier on school nights. :)
