Hello all
Well no matter how many times I start I always come back to this site....I just manage not to stick with a diet very long...
I just started a low calorie diet on 8/31/15 at 323 lbs and as today 9/12/15.. I weight 320 lbs... I feel I can do better with low carb but just have to stick with it..so I will be changing over first thing in the morning. Now I am going to dust off the book to review and look at the forum for tips... I like to keep the meals basic like eggs, chicken etc...
Joe
I had the lapband back in 2005 weight 323 lbs got down to 267 lbs Now I regained all my weight.. my mini goal is 299 by Dec 31,2015.

Welcome home, Joe!!! :) :) :) :) :)
You've known that calorie diets don't work.
And you just spent 2 weeks proving that again.
Now is the time, get back on track and COMMIT to succeed.
After a couple weeks, cravings will subside and it will be easier to stay the course.
So take it one day at a time, and one meal at a time, even one moment at a time, when needed.
You CAN do this if you want it enough.
And we'll do what we can to help you.
Tony

I started out not sticking to it but told myself to not give up over and over. Now I'm glad I did that. You are really making the best choice by coming back. Get excited about the delicious foods you can eat. That really helps.
-
Thanks - Do any of you use LC shakes?

I was 320 at my highest. I was told to get lap band but I hate going under the knife. I have lost 25 pounds but am struggling to maintain due to a death in the family. FTS really works and improves your health and longevity. I am so glad that you dusted off that book! :)

Shakes can be made lowest in carbs by using extracts, a fruit(berries), lots of heavy whipping cream, coconut milk, etc.... and of course Zero Sweet!!

Today is my Birthday and I will have a treat tonight, I may gain a little but that's alright as I know what I have to do.

Welcome back Joe and Happy Birthday!!! ;D You need to eat :D Find your favorite recipes and enjoy! I will convert any recipe you are missing from normal food routine. People think losing weight is like a punishment ,its not you just have to know what to eat ;) And we eat good!!!
-
That's right Umpa!! I am so glad I can convert recipes now. No cookbook scares me anymore. Food Network magazine is my favorite. I look at all the recipes & think how to make them low carb. They have a high a very high fat waffle recipe that I can't wait to convert and try.
-
Hi umpa and Thanks.
Went out of town Saturday and met up with some old Army friends that I have not seen for abut 3 years. We were in the service back in 1980... It was really nice to see them.... I think I did alright eating LC...

Still here
Trying to get into the dentist office... I have am apt for October 15 but over the weekend sporadic pain... I know I need a root canal..... T :(
-
I feel for you, Joe! :(
Hope that you recover from your root canal quickly.
Stay the course and FTS will work for you.
But you can't allow yourself excuses to to off track if you're committed to succeeding.
Doing that is a recipe for stall outs and frustration.

Hate the dentist just had a tooth pulled last month >:(

Hi, Joe!
Why flirt with failure?
Rice is not the only high carb ingredient in that bowl.
Here's the list of its ingredients;
Black beans, cilantro rice, citrus & herb marinated chicken, new guacamole, fire-roasted corn salsa, creamy cilantro dressing, pico de gallo and romaine lettuce.
Assuming you got the chicken one, you ate 41 net carbs!!! :o :o :o
That bowl is more that TWICE the max number of carbs you should allow.
See; https://m.nutritionix.com/taco-bell/cantina-power-bowl-chicken/
If your serious about reaching your goals, you must be more careful my friend.
