Sides and Snacks / Popcorn
« on: January 04, 2011, 07:37:49 AM »
Hey all.....
Love this recipe when I was "DIEting" lol
Just realized I could eat it!!

Ingredients
1 head of cauliflower
3 Tbsp. (45mL) EV olive oil
2 Tbsp. (30mL) Mrs. Dash spicey...or whatever spices you like..thats low carb :) So metimes I sprinkle butter buds the whole thing after on cookie sheet(careful of carbs in that)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450°F (220°C).
2. Cut out and discard cauliflower core and thick stems. Trim remaining cauliflower into florets the size of popcorn.
3. Toss thoroughly in a bowl with olive oil
4. Spread cauliflower on a sheet pan and roast for approximately 60 minutes, or until nicely browned (that's the carmelization process converting the dormant natural sugars into sweetness).
5. Turn three or four times during roasting. The browner the florets, the sweeter they will taste. Serve immediately.  ENJOY!!!!!

Be sure to fix when you are ready to eat :0)

Product Reviews / Shirataki noodles
« on: November 24, 2010, 08:21:25 AM »
ok Im not sure I would have a clear conscience if I didnt post about this product. Doug said be hinest but fair so I am.
I bought these because of a craving for pasta..... I used bertolli on it remembering the mental thing. If you think you are eating it...you are.
I had a total open mind and it looked beautiful.
I cannot say it was as tasty...actually it had no taste. no matter how different I thought about it..it was just not goos. Dont get me wrong, it was so easy to make...just rinse rinse rinse and then use. I even followed the recommended directions and micro for 1 min.....yuck...
Im not gonna say anything else as I know some of the opthers enjoy it.
I am going back to zucchinni shreds..................or yummy spaghetti squash...... :)

Product Reviews / Dixie Diner pancake mix vs. dixie diner bakesquick
« on: November 14, 2010, 12:07:53 PM »
ok
so i bought both of these and was VERY skeptical cause i told myself I wasnt going to order online...... :)
well
I have to be honest and say the pancake mix made pretty pancakes but I didnt cake for them. I think the consistency when cooked and the "spongy eggy" thing I didnt like
Now the Bakesquick!!!!
LOVED IT!
It was very bisquick but not as heavy. I wish I got a bit more in the bag but it was so delicious. nice texture nice flavor. I took a que from Doug and made straw jelly and a nice big pat of butter on it with some turkey bacon and it was yummy.
I cannot wait to try them as bisquits-and on oven fried chicken and stuff...
I am very excited about this product.. definelty worth ordering again :)
