General Discussion / Re: Help I can't stop eating sugar!

Now I am convinced that if I can do this....ANYBODY can!  I was addicted to sugar too!  It helps me to always keep things in the house that I can have.   About once a week, I make something yummy from the FTS dessert recipes!  I never feel deprived as long as I know there's a low carb alternative for me.   Just make a decision to do this.   It helps me so much to get on this forum everyday and read all the new posts.  For me, just knowing that there are so many people out there doing the SAME thing with me is an awesome thought!  Come on...We've got this!!!   .....and we are here for you!!

Hi Toosweet!  Welcome to the Forum!  So glad you found out about the book!  A friend of mine told me about it too, and I will be forever thankful for that!  Be sure to check out the recipes in the "recipe exchange" section of the forum too!  I am amazed at all the cool things we can eat....and still lose weight!

General Discussion / Re: crock-pot
« on: April 17, 2011, 01:34:07 PM »
One of my favorite ways to cook chicken is in the crockpot.  I put 4 frozen or fresh boneless chicken breast in the crockpot. Place a pat of butter on top of each.  Sprinkle a packet of the dry italian dressing mix on top.  Cook 5 - 8 hours on low.  (no liquid needed.)

It it SO good.

I take a piece of chicken out for myself, then I "juice up" the recipe for my skinny family.  In a sauce pan on medium heat, I put a pack of cream cheese with a can of cream of chicken soup until smooth.  Then pour it in the crock pot on top of the chicken, stir, and cook on high for 20 minutes.  They eat it over pasta.  I am sure there's a low carb way to make this, but I don't really like the shirataki noodles.  So, I just eat the chicken with some mashed cauliflower while they eat their carbs.  :)

General Discussion / Dinner tonight...
« on: April 16, 2011, 09:27:09 PM »
My husband and I had dinner tonight at Ruby Tuesdays.  I knew they had mashed cauliflower on the menu, but I was happy to see that they now have grilled zucchini, spaghetti squash, asparagus, and steamed broccoli as sides.  Eating out seems to get easier all the time!  Never thought I'd see the day I would get excited over veggie choices!  lol

Same here Jo.  I pack my husband's lunch every morning....sandwich, chips, and something sweet.  Also my daughter, age 19, is with us until the Fall Semester stars in August.  She still has to have all her favorite treats in the house.  I think one of the greatest things about FTS is that the cravings do go away.  I would rather have my FTS treats that their junk anyday!  It's funny, but they won't even TRY the sugar free things I bake.  I kind of like that way....more for me!!   lol
