Toasting the one minute muffin is the only way to go.  I cut it on it's side after you dump it on a plate.  Let it sit for a while to cool down and cut it and have about 5 slices.  It smells really good, too, when you toast it.

Umpa, please post the recipe.....please please please please please.

For anyone reading our posts who are suffering from more weight than you would like to be carrying, god bless you all - stay away from the bypass surgery, but, if you have already gone through it, please comment and tell us how you are doing.  We would like to support your efforts and make you successful.

No, we do not make our own beer.  You heading that way?  Sounds awesome?

Yes, if I was savy enough, I would probably post a picture of Gabby with the tomatoe in her mouth.  It was annoying at times because she new how to pick them.  lol!

I have an hour lunch so I spent half of it at a garden center - bought 3 more tomato plants, two eggplants, 2 collard.  Again, I am looking for swiss chard and kale and once again having problems finding them.  I just have to get to a jumbo garden center.  We have a Milleager's by us, so will go their on Saturday.  I really love this time of year.

So, how are the mushroom plugs coming along you guys.  I never bought the plugs.  BUT, I will be doing this some time in the future.

Have a nice day and good talking you all.

Carried away!!!!!!!@#@#@#@#@#  We planted 11 one year and that was crazy - we definitely canned that year and gave away plenty.  It's fun to watch them grow.  We had a yellow lab that once she understood how wonderful tomatoes tasted, we couldn't keep her out of the tomato patch.  lol!  We have the cutest pictures of her with one very large red tomato in her mouth.

All so true - all of your notes.  These doctors, especially the "My 600 Pound Life" - the older doctor on this show --- it's all about being of TV, the fame, the money.  The fact that they can lose weight w/o the bypass troubles me that the doctor would then put them through the surgery.

Hi Tony and Doug:

Nice - it's a special sort of spring in WI - the weather actually cooperating.

Bought two basil plants the other day.

WHY 20 tomato plants, Doug?????  Canning?  Say hi to Umpa for me!
I may buy eggplant - sounds good.

Sorry, Tony, about the animals loving your garden.  Plant what you can :-)

Good luck to you both.

General Questions / 2014 Veggy Garden

Okay, what are people planting in their gardens by way of veggies?

So far I have stuck spearmint, basil, sage, lavender and only one lonely tomato in the ground.

Planning on finding some kale and swiss chard.

Figured we can buy our peppers at the produce stand, as they are quite inexpensive.

I'll still probably do the micro greens and have beets so far to plant in the ground.

It's been very dry and now we have three days worth of rain coming down in buckets.  Plus, it turned 52 degrees today.  What's that all about.

Let's hear from you all.

Have a nice day!

General Questions / The Series: My 600 pound Life
« on: May 28, 2014, 01:36:40 PM »
Has anyone watched the Series - My 600 Pound Life?  These people get the gastric bypass...do a lot of sugar dumping....get frustrated at the new lifestyle which is actually eliminating the sugar and when able, begin to exercise, then quit.  The doctor on the show seems to be somewhat strict and says that about 5% of the people actually are successful.  It's even more sad when the spouses are not very supportive.

The doctor tells them to loose about 30 pounds one month prior to their next visit.  So, some do lose the 30 pounds.  Then he will consider them for the bypass.  Isn't it funny that they have shown themselves that they can lose the weight but still go through the bypass.

There is a segment on FTS forum that I believe stated that you actually loose so many years of life by getting this dangerous procedure done.

This one lady would drink carbonated soda, even though she was told that it would be painful, it would stretch her stomach, and prohibit weight loss.  Even though she would go through a certain amount of pain, she said It wouldn't last long and that she was giving herself a reward, as she had just gone though an exercise training session.

So, my question is, is this the reason why these folks put the weight all back on.....they get used to the pain, the vomiting, and struggle through it and essentially have a painful workaround to get fat again?

This gal was eating tuna and avocado - I was so proud of her, as that is what I will have for lunch.  But, her husband was verbally abusive and she had to plow her way though a lot of emotional barriers around him.  He likes fat woman, so her losing the weight wasn't on his agenda for her.

Thought I would pass along one of my thoughts for the day.

You know what, after reading Morgan's interpretations, I didn't have a problem reading the original script.  I am dazzled by this...

By the way, what is a whoopie pie pan?????
