Welcome Keke.  Yes this does really work and no it is not a diet.  This is a change in lifestyle, one that is very simple and easy to maintain.  In 9 weeks I have lost over 20 pounds without very much effort, other than taking the time to plan ahead what I am going to eat and making sure I have quick FTS friendly snacks on hand in case I need them.  I have had 2 weekend getaways, my birthday, a wedding and someone else's birthday party and never felt the need to stray.  I planned before each of the occasions what I would eat and had backup with me in case it wasn't available.  Read the book and follow the plan.  Read though the success stories of the other forum members and look at their weight tickers on the bottom of their posts, that should tell you that this works.  You have to be prepared to make a lifestyle change, but honestly we don't feel like we our missing out on anything, we find an alternative to our favourites with help from Doug, Umpa and our forum family.

Make sure your honey is not malitol as a sweetner or you will get a tummy ache.
Not malitol, Taste Like Honey is made with xylitol:
Ingredients: Xylitol, Spring Water, Xantham gum, Natural honey flavor, Citric Acid, Sorbic acid

I went to my local health food store and asked them to order them for me as I was unable to find them either.  Weather is starting to get cooler and I am looking forward to eating chilli!!

Actually I just found Nature's Hollow Taste Like Honey on the Low Carb Grocery website and it is made with xylitol and has 0 net carbs.  Should work good.

I heard it said that giving birth to a new baby is when a woman gets to "help" God with a miracle!
I've never heard that said before, but that is very nice. I guess mother's are very special!  I think I'll give my Mom a call.

I'm 5'4" and was thinking I wanted to get into a size 10.  My size 12's are getting a little loose, but I'm not quite into a 10 yet.  I don't think I will have to get down to 135 to wear a 10 though, I may be changing my goal weight.  I guess in my early 50's I carry my weight different than I did in my 20's & 30's.  I've never had a desire to be a size 2, so being a comfortable size 10 would be good.

If you get 50 posts on the forum you can get a free E-book from Doug and could choose the Fat to Skinny Sugar & Carb Counter E-book download.  If you want to buy it, it is $4.00.
