Kathe, welcome to the forum.  This FTS lifestyle is a great way to get your health, body and self confidence back on track.  Most of us have tried Weight Watchers at least once.  I think I went back about 3 times, but always put the weight back on.  I have found FTS to be so easy without craves or feeling like I am missing out on anything.  There are lots of suggestions in the book and on the forum to give you alternatives to your old favourite foods.  I have found this so helpful.  In the past I would let myself have a "treat" now and then to not feel deprived and that usually sent me on an eating binge.  Now with ideas for FTS friendly treats, I feel satisfied with no guilt and it's part of my planned net cabs for the day...and the weight keeps coming off.  My blood sugars have come down wonderfully and that started just in the first couple of weeks.  You will find everyone here very helpful.  So good luck on your new journey and your new life.

Katary, I heard on the John Tesh radion program that when you go for a job interview to lean in towards your interviewer when you speak.  He said that is some kind of body language that says you are a go-getter.  I also am job hunting so I usually listen when he talks about job interviews.  Here is a link to his website that has job interview suggestions, maybe something will help.

SherriPie:  Congrats on your marvelous weight loss.  Along with drinking lots of water I have been slathering my body with Shea Butter which says it helps moisturize and restore elasticity to skin.  I have been using the Clinique Deep Comfort Body Butter, but I'm sure there are less expensive brands out there.  Not sure if it is true about restoring elasticity, but it can't hurt to try, and it definitely moisturizes wonderfully.

Great picture Katary.  It must have been wonderful for you to walk into your reunion feeling confident.  I'm sure there are others that didn't go because they were not feeling so good about themselves.  Congrats on your successful journey and may it continue.

Thanks everyone for the support...and we get to do it again in 2 weeks.  We haven't been to a wedding in a couple of years and now 2 in 2 weeks.  This one coming up is at an Italian Hall in a neighbouring city.  They are well known for their food.  It will be tough to pass on that bowl of meatballs.  I might have to fill my purse with a full course meal.  LOL!!

I only have the Hershey's SF chocolate syrup right now.  I'll try the Walden Farms when I get some.  Thanks for the suggestion Mouseissue.

Welcome Margie!!  You have come to the right place.  Any "diet" I have ever been on always left me feeling hungry or that I was being deprived of my favourite foods.  This new way of life is amazing!  I don't feel hungry and with the help of Doug's book, Doug, his wife Umpa and all of the forum members, there are lots of substitute suggestions that are very close to my favourite foods.  Everyone is so helpful and encouraging that it makes this seem easy.  Good luck with your journey.  Hope to see you on the forum often.

LOL!!  Ok, let's change the words Magic Bullet to mini personal BLENDER to avoid another run of innuendos.

My SF Hershey's chocolate Syrup says per 2 tblsp.:
5g. Carbohydrates,
< 1 g dietary Fiber
4g Sugar Alcohols.
So, I guess it's not zero, but maybe round it up to 1 net carb.  The Hershey nutrition chart doesn't mention sugar alcohols.
Anyway it is waaay less net carbs than a large chocolate shake from MacDonalds.  I looked on their website and a lg. choc shake (which is probably where I had my last choc. shake) was 202 net carbs, and I think my recipe tasted just as good if not better because I wasn't choking on the guilt.

Beverage Recipes / Chocolate Milkshake

I was thinking today that I hadn't had a chocolate milkshake for a few years and would love to have one, so I came up with a a FTS friendly recipe.  I was planning on drinking it with my lunch.  It was soooo good and filling that it ended up being my lunch.  This is what I did:

Chocolate “Milkshake”

In a Magic Bullet or Blender add the following:

1 cup SF Vanilla Almond Milk (1 net carb)
¼ cup heavy cream (0 net carbs)
2-3 ice cubes
1 – 2 tblsp SF Hershey Chocolate Syrup (< 1 net carb)
1 tsp. xylitol (0 net carbs)

Blend until you can no longer hear the ice cubes on the chopping blades.  Pour into a tall glass with a straw.  Drink and enjoy!!
Did I add the net carbs right?

I never thought to use turnip like potatoes.  I like turnip and it is easy to find where I live.  I'll give that a try when my jicama is gone.  Thanks for the suggestion Beebs!
