Owensmath!  You are an FTS champion!!!  :)

My mom was so sweet and had PLENTY of FTS things for me at her house.... turkey, ham, salad, deviled eggs, green beans, turnip greens,...and I took Umpa's chocolate cheesecake...now THAT was a blessing!   :)

Thank you!   Ok...now I totally understand why in a separate post I saw where you suggested that someone cut their dessert into serving sizes and freeze it.  OMG....I have ate cheesecake EVERYday!!  ha ha   I was a little nervous to get on the scales this morning, but to my happy surprise....I didn't even gain an ounce during Christmas!!  I ate like a queen, but everthing was FTS friendly!! Amazed.......   :)

Oh Umpa!!  The cheesecake turned out beautifully!  I cut a little sliver of it just to taste, and OMG!!!  I can't wait to share this with my family.   Thank you SO much for your help!

Hey Joagain, I made the sausage balls this morning and they are great!  There's just 3 of us, so I cut the recipe down a little.  I just used 1 lb of hot sausage, 2 cups of grated cheese, 1 egg, and added  a little almond flour and flackseed meal.  I baked them 30 min on 350, and my family hasn't even noticed the difference!  I feel so sneaky!  ha ha

Hi Umpa....I am starting my cooking extravaganza in the morning!  ha ha  Ok....I bought the Bakers unsweetened chocolate.  About how many squares would you suggest for a normal sized cheesecake.  I want it really chocolaty! :)  Also wondering if I should adjust with more xylitol if I put more chocolate...??

I will be making them in the morning!  So glad to hear yours turned out well.  I am anxious to see if my teenage daughter notices they are different from last year....??  I'm not telling her!  ha ha  I am so excited about Christmas!  We are expecting snow on Saturday!!  I heard on the news that the last time we had a white Christmas in the Atlanta metro area was in the 1860's.   I sure hope we get it!!

General Questions / Re: wondering about fluid retention on FTS diet
« on: December 22, 2010, 03:57:06 PM »
Hi Forte.  Welcome to the forum.  I also take a diuretic daily for hypertension. In the past, I had problems with water retention, but I haven't had any problems on FTS. If anything, FTS has improved my symptoms.  I would suggest you talk with your physician.  Though edema can be caused by heart or kidney related conditions, I know that when I used to eat pan pizza, my fingers and ankles would REALLY swell.  Not sure if it was due to the high salt, carbs, or what?   I don't take potassium, and I don't eat bananas anymore either.  In my case, my internist thinks FTS is GREAT for me!    Hope you get to the bottom of this, and feel better soon!

I'm in!!  Just told my husband last night that it's going to be SO nice to enjoy New Year's Eve and not be thinking about "what diet I'll start tomorrow....ugh"  ha ha

Since my bloodwork came back so good last week (cholesterol down from 249 to 169), I don't have to see my doctor again for 6 months.  My appointment is set for June 18. My goal is to have off another 50 lbs by then!  He asked me SO many questions about what I'm eating.  I may just buy HIM a copy of FTS so he can recommend it to his other patients!!

Thank you SO much!  Can't wait to try this!

Hi Umpa!  Is this the recipe which can also be used to make a chocolate cheesecake by just adding 2 Tbsp of unsweetened Cocoa?   Still planning my Christmas dinner and thinking I need a chocolate cheesecake.  :)

Thanks for the recipes Joagain!  So tickled to know I CAN have sausage balls this Christmas!

Hi Shihtzumom!  Now that I've made it through Thanksgiving, I know Christmas will be a breeze with all these great recipes.  I am trying to narrow down the desserts to decide which one (or 2 or 3) I'm making!  ha ha

That's ok Owensmath!  Still, it was very sweet of you to offer!  I am sure you can put it to good use later on!

JoAgain, I started counting calories on April 1st and had lost 24 lbs.  I changed over to FTS on Sept 10th and so far lost 29 more.  I just listed my "total" on my ticker.   I am tall and big, so I have a LONG way to go.  It's funny, but all my life people have told me things like "You have such a pretty face" or that I "carry my weight well" and I have to wonder....what does that even mean?  Nobody carries over 300 pounds well...except for maybe an NFL football player.  ha ha  Oh well....I have to laugh about it.  I know we'll all get there if we just stick with it!  We are all in this together.  :)
