That is GREAT!  I will let him know.  Hopefully he will get the regular book and go ahead and get started now.  I purchased the FTS cook book online yesterday, and anxious to try more new recipes.  I will have to get the bakery book too when it's available!

I agree with everyone else......I am SO thankful for YOU & DOUG!!!!!  God bless you both!!!

Hey Umpa,
My brother is interested in FTS.  He asked if the book is out in an audio version or an "app"?  (Not sure about what an "app" is?  ha ha)  I looked online but only saw the regular book and the E Book.  He travels alot and thought the audio would be great to have if it's available...?

OH!  I'll have to try this with the kickin chicken spice!   That sounds SO good!!
I had the fried chicken again last night, but only added black pepper to the ground pork rinds.   I finally got the "fake" mashed potatoes right (thanks to owensmath)and they were good!  I put a little of the Heinz chicken gravy on top......felt like I was cheating!

I made these crackers last night, and I really like them.  They were very yummy with spinach dip too!

Oh I like the new organization too!  I had been printing my favorites to save from having to search the 10 pages each time.   This will be so much easier!

Thanks Umpa!  :)

Last night, I fried thin boneless chicken breasts using the pork skins (ground up in the food processor) for the coating.  Just used a little salt & pepper and it was delicious!!  They browned SO pretty too!

I'm thinking you could buy the little boneless chicken strips and make chicken tenders this way.  That would be GREAT football food!  :)

General Discussion / Re: Tortilla Wraps...too good to be true?

Yeah, now that I have a whole pack of them....I will use them sparingly counting them as 5 carbs each.  Today, I got a whopper from Burger King without the bun & ketchup.  I wrapped it in one of the tortillas & pretended it was a real whopper.  ha ha   Not bad!

Ok thanks Beebs!  I just KNEW it couldn't be for real!  I used one last night to make a pizza.....glad now that I had carbs to spare, otherwise I would have gone over.

Thanks for the info!

General Discussion / Tortilla Wraps...too good to be true?
« on: November 09, 2010, 08:53:32 PM »
Tonight while grocery shopping, I found "Ole Mexican Foods Xtreme Wellness"  high fiber/low carb tortilla wraps.  The nutritional information really seems too good to be true...??  I tried one when I got home, and it was great!  Has anyone tried these?  I found them at Ingles Grocery Store.

Here's the breakdown:
Serving size: 1 tortilla
Total carbs: 5g
Dietary Figer: 12g
Sugar: 0g

I laughed when I saw the fiber count.  So....could I just count this as 0 carbs or -7 ??

General Discussion / Re: cheaper Shirataki noodles
« on: November 09, 2010, 03:00:49 PM »
Last week I was SO excited when I found Shirataki noodles in the produce section at the Ingles Grocery Store.  Unfortunately EVERY pack they had was past the expiration date by a week.  I asked the produce manager about it, and he pulled them from the shelf.

I just called today and they have re-stocked.  He said the new exp date on the ones they have is Febuary 2011.  I can't wait to try them!!
