Lean On My Shoulder / Re: Canola Oil
« on: October 26, 2015, 12:28:39 PM »
Hi, Susie! :)

Haven't used canola oil in years.
Like Umpa, I use primarily peanut and olive oils for most cooking and frying.
I'll occasionally use coconut oil for lower heat purposes.

You may have gotten a bad batch of canola oil.
Did the oil smell OK?
Take the bottle back to the store and get your money back.

This may seem a silly question, but wouldn't adding baking soda to the beans make them taste too salty?  With my hypertension, I use very little, if any salt so I am hypersensitive to the taste.  Using more than a pinch makes my food too salty.

Hi, Mark! :)

Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is high in salt (sodium).
So if you're sensitive to salt, be careful with it.

Welcome to the FTS family, Allen!!!  :) :) :) :) :) :)

After decades of yo-yo dieting that ended with metabolic syndrome,
FTS came to the rescue for me.

If you commit to losing that unwanted FAT, FTS will do it for you.

I feel for you, Joe! :(
Hope that you recover from your root canal quickly.

Stay the course and FTS will work for you.
But you can't allow yourself excuses to to off track if you're committed to succeeding.
Doing that is a recipe for stall outs and frustration.

Hi, Happy2bthin4me! :)

Your experience with your healthcare provider is typical.
Only a few have kept up with recent research about carbs and ketones.
And many are simply reluctant to change.

The good new is, what we know as true is spreading. But it will take time to get all around.

The body is an amazing machine and medical science is still learning about how it works. Medicine is NOT a settled science. In fact, no science is settled.
Science's purpose is the continual search for truth.
How many ideas has science abandoned in light of new research findings?
Some providers forget this.

Hi, Joe! :)

I take a 5-mile walk most mornings very early to start my day.
When I don't get the walk, I miss it.

Welcome home, Joe!!! :) :) :) :) :)

You've known that calorie diets don't work.
And you just spent 2 weeks proving that again.

Now is the time, get back on track and COMMIT to succeed.
After a couple weeks, cravings will subside and it will be easier to stay the course.

So take it one day at a time, and one meal at a time, even one moment at a time, when needed.

You CAN do this if you want it enough.
And we'll do what we can to help you.

Hello, Susie!... And welcome home!!! :) :) :) :) :)

I am happy to hear that you and Mary are managing well.

And yes, school lunches can be tough.
But keeping the carbs as low as possible is helpful.

I'm glad you discovered that your soon-to-be-ex-husband lied about the divorce and are getting it fixed.
I don't support divorce except under some very bad conditions, and yours has been.

I can only imagine the looks at a food bank pulling up in a new Mustang convertible.
I hope you did not get any dirty looks.

God bless you and Mary!
Please stay in touch. :)
