Thanks umpa.

I was in the forum a few years back also but had quit.

i am now warned by doctor to loose weight asap.

For the last 3 days i am consuming 50 - 60 carbs a day only but still am not loosing weight

Hi, Sandip! :)

Like I said in the last post, you should keep your daily digestible carbs to 20 or less, per day.
This is clearly stated in Doug's book.

I've lost my weight following that.

Hi, Sandip.

As I said in another one your posts...

100 net carbs a day is FIVE TIMES as much :o :o :o as the most you should eat, daily.
20 net carbs or less, not eating too much, and only eating when hungry are the keys to success.

Please read Doug's book.

Sounds wonderful, Morgan! :) :) :)

Couldn't you skip the butter or oil when frying bacon, and use some the rendered bacon fat?
Now if your referring to Canadian Bacon (which is lean), adding some butter or oil makes sense.

General Questions / Re: High Cholesterol
« on: May 23, 2015, 12:23:18 PM »
Hi, alison1young! :)

Many doctors have recently noticed that blood cholesterol is NOT the cause of arterial blockages.
The problem is arterial inflammation that makes the artery walls "sticky" and causes cholesterol to adhere.

Please check these discussions and links out about cholesterol & heart disease;

Here's an article about drugs used to lower cholesterol (statins);

There is a reason why your cholesterol number is high. But the FTS lifestyle is NOT it.
In fact, eating low-carb will most often reduce blood cholesterol (unless something other than eating high-carbs is causing it).

There is another issue at work effecting your cholesterol number.
Remember that if cholesterol has nothing to stick to in the arteries, it will just pass through.

This sounds really good, Doug! :) :) :)

On a cooler day, I'm going to try this out.
I might add a little cream sherry to add that "special something" I get with my beef stroganoff recipe. ;)

or almond milk :)

I vote for almond milk too (with a little heavy cream and a few drops of Zero). ;)

Hi, Stephanie! :)

The FTS lifestyle is easy!
That's the way Doug designed it.

It provides us with a means of eating VERY delicious foods, while getting healthier in the process.

So relax, enjoy life, and your FTS journey.
In so doing, you will reach goal far more quickly.

Remember, a "watched" pot never seems to come to a boil. ;)

... but as everyone else has shared, I still see myself as the way I was when I started. It has really been hitting me hard lately, playing with my head.

Hi, Donna! :)

Don't let a false image of your body mess with you.
After many years of being fat, it takes time for our minds to catch up with today's reality.

So just relax and enjoy your FTS lifestyle.
In time its rewards will be obvious, and that image will change.
