Water, water and more water :) We all need to keep hydrated!

So true, Doug!

Especially since we're moving into the warmer times of the year.
We need even more water.

Hi, Stephanie!  :)

Mild dehydration is also the fast-track to building kidney stones! :o :o :o
You've been fortunate to have avoided them thus far.

Drink lots and lots of plain (not flavored) water.
Putting in occasional lemon wedge in is OK.

Hi steph - we always seem to be coming back at the same time.  It's a good thing we just don't give up.  We will both succeed in the end. (No matter how many times we pick ourselves up and brush ourselves down.)  :D

You are very right, Morgan! :) :) :)

Welcome back home, morgan!!!  :) :) :) :) :) :)

You're correct about not giving up.
Failure only occurs when we completely give up, and not try again.
As long as we get back up and move on after setbacks, sooner or later, we'll get where we want to go. It just takes longer.

Commitment is key to success in any worthwhile effort.
Without it, guaranteed setbacks are in our futures.
Every day calls for recommitment.
Take FTS one day at a time, recommitting each day, and you WILL make it, Morgan! :)

You are VERY fortunate that detox is not that difficult for you.
However, be very careful not to allow that to become an "excuse" to slip.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you again! :) :) :)

Hi, Stephanie! :)

Would you run a footrace with someone having a 50 lb. sack of concrete on your back???
This is why women should never compare their progress to their male mates.

Men tend to lose faster than women due to having much higher testosterone levels.
Testosterone is a very strong metabolic stimulant.
So don't measure your progress against your husband's (or anyone else, for that matter).

Taking on two major life changes simultaneously is a challenge. But not impossible.
If you have the determination and commitment to do it, you WILL succeed at both.

After 3 days of non-smoking, a body will finish detoxing from nicotine.
Then it becomes entirely a situation of mind over matter.
If you keep your head in the right space, nothing will stop you.

We'll be right here Stephanie, to help you in any way we can.
So you go for it, girl! ;)

Hi, Stephanie! :)

The first week or two we almost always see rapid loss.
Then progress slows to a "normal" rate for whatever's normal for you.

But don't be concerned about something that may or may not happen.
As long as your losing, with an occasional short plateau, you're on track.

This is NOT a race!!!
This is a lifestyle change that will over time make you healthier and lose weight as a bonus.

If and when you hit a prolonged plateau of 3 or more weeks,
contact us for help and we'll do what we can to help you. :)

Welcome home again, Strucker!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

We are carb addicts... junkies to carbs, if you will.
So don't allow discouragement to creep in.
It often takes multiple attempts before complete success is achieved.

No matter how many times we slip & fall, as long as we keep getting back up, we'll win!
And we'll be right here each time to help you stay "on your feet". :)

I totally missed this one :D

Wow!... I forgot all about this recipe! :o

The last time I made it, I also made a dipping sauce with LC marinara + basil and Italian seasoning.
Gonna make it again soon.

Mine too Tony!, Itsoversugar, the reason I soak the chicken in salt water is to "deep" flavor the meat and maintain the moisture. I doo the same for any baked or roasted chickens and turkey :)

Hi, Itsoversugar! :)

The process of soaking poultry in salted water is called brining.
I do this with turkey and other poultry to tenderize the meat and retain juices.

For turkey, I'll add wedges of orange, lemon, and sprigs of fresh rosemary.
The fruit's citric acid does wonders for tenderizing the meat with negligible carbs.

Welcome to the FTS family, Runninghappy15!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

You are correct that heavy cream (without additives) has 0 carbs.

Umpa mentioned the following in another post of yours...

There are many things the so-called "experts" have taught us about losing weight that is not true.

Digestible carbs turn into blood glucose VERY fast.
Because there is so much glucose so quickly, our bodies cannot burn it. So they store it as fat.

Fats and protein digest much slower and therefore are processed into glucose much slower.
With that, our bodies have a better opportunity to process them without fat storage.

One caveat...
Our metabolisms perform a process that will take 0 carb foods and generate blood glucose.
This process is called gluconeogenesis.
For that reason, it is important that we monitor our portions.
We should only eat what our bodies need for fuel, and no more.
When we eat too much of zero or low carb foods, we will gain weight.

If you ever have any questions or need any support, please let us know! :)
