General Discussion / First attempt
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:38:27 AM »
Well I'm attempting my first recipe out of the cookbook tonight, the eggplant lasagna. We're celebrating my sisters birthday and I got nominated to make dinner, well they're going to be eating my way!!! :) My mother-in-law made it for Easter last year and no one could tell the difference, and no one even realized what they were eating until someone pointed it out. Now let's just hope that I don't butcher it!!!!

General Discussion / Week 2
« on: January 31, 2012, 09:23:15 AM »
So another 4lbs gone this week, for a total of 11lbs. Trying not to let the difference in numbers between the 2 weeks frustrate me...it's normal!!! And besides, don't know many other people trying to lose weight who can lose 11lbs in 2 weeks. :)

« on: January 28, 2012, 11:50:22 AM »
Every week I say I'm only going to step on the scale on weigh in day...every week about halfway through I step on the scale. Why?! Why do we do this to ourselves?! Lol!! It's so frustrating when it's not looking like its the same from the week before, when you know you're doing the same things. We really need to stop being so hard on our bodies!!!! Lol

General Discussion / People notice
« on: January 27, 2012, 10:16:41 AM »
I hadn't seen my mom since I started and she came over last night, walks in the house and stops her story to look at me and go, have you dropped a bunch of weight suddenly?! Lol!! Made me feel good!! Even though it hasn't been a ton yet, only in my second week, it made me feel good that it was noticed. I drop weight in my face and gain in my gave first, so glad I look less swollen. :)

I know I saw this topic but couldn't find it anywhere...so coming off the flu I'm just curious what people have found to be a good substitution for the BRAT diet?

General Discussion / Weigh In
« on: January 24, 2012, 10:51:34 AM »
Well today was the first week weigh in and I'm down 7 lbs. It almost feels too good to be true...I've tried everything since having my son. Awesome that this works so well :)
Now I'm off to go try and sleep off my flu I came down with. :(

It really is!!!! It's only been a week, and I've refused to weigh myself again until Monday, but I feel good. I figure that says a lot!!

So I'm impressed with how easy it is to do things once you get started. Went to one of my favorite restaurants yesterday with my sister and our kids and without even thinking about it I ordered my favorite burger bunless and a side salad...and I enjoyed my food more than normal!!! Now I'm trying to talk my sister into joining me on this adventure. ;)

General Discussion / Feeling pretty good...
« on: January 19, 2012, 10:37:47 AM »
Just have to share that I had a meeting yesterday afternoon about an hour from home, wasn't hungry before the meeting, but of course after I was done I was hungry and still had to drive home and pick up the little one from the sitter... my options, were a gas station. Stopped in to get a water and looking around (LOVE the fact that we have gas stations with mini markets in them!!!) and ended up with hard-boiled eggs, and string cheese... and stepped on the scale this morning, down 5lbs since Monday... I could get used to this :)

General Questions / Is it normal...
« on: January 17, 2012, 04:24:03 PM »
to not be hungry that often? I'm only on my second day, but I ate my breakfast, and I'm still not hungry. Which would be a good thing, if it wasn't almost the classic "dinnertime", and I just want to make sure that that's not going to hinder me in some way... it seems a little weird to me!

Lean On My Shoulder / I know this is probably answered somewhere...
« on: January 16, 2012, 03:11:49 PM »
but I'm impatient and don't want to dig through everything, so hoping I can get a quick answer from you guys. :) I am a coffee addict, I need my coffee in the morning, without it I am not a lovable person. LOL!!! I don't use any cream in my coffee, but I do use splenda... I know each splenda is 1 carb, so I was just wondering if there is a better option? I can do the splenda but I would hate to end up using 5 carbs (depending on the day I'm having!) just on coffee...

General Discussion / Newbie

Ok so I've decided to give this a try...got the book a few months ago and I just wasn't ready at that time apparently. I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant with my son, and I've always had issues with my metabolism so losing the remaining weight has been a nightmare...even after 3 years. Getting started on the whole thing seems daunting to me...but I'm hoping once I get into the swing of things it gets easier!!! I'd like my husband to be able to see me in the little black dress that he's heard about but never actually seen!!!  ;)
