Welcome Janet - I'm sure you will do well.  Don't hesitate to ask anything - someone is bound to know the answer.  :D

hi fineman - welcome .  R u in India? I'm in Australia and I can't get any of the usual products here either.  I buy my stuff online.  I know in the recipe section there is a recipe for tortilla, but I'm sure someone else will have suggestions.  I have experimented a little bit by just using my usual recipes and replacing with almond or soy flour or flax, usuing zero for sugar, etc. Some more successful than others.  Umpa is really great on the cooking advice and is able to convert your normal recipes for fts approved ones.  Personally the GG crispbrand is like eating cardboard, but that's just me. :D

Good luck.

General Discussion / Re: A Minor Rant Against 'Supportive' Friends
« on: July 19, 2012, 05:42:45 PM »
Thank you all for your support.  My friends are friends but they are who they are and you can't change them.  My original friend from my first rant (even though I think she still feels this may be a phase) actually goes out of her way now when we go out to ensure that I will be able to get something to eat.  I don't make a big deal out of things (never had) and usually have 'nibbles' in a small container in my bag if needed.  Funny thing being actually - yesterday she was standing in my kitchen saying she has stacked on too much weight and will be cutting out cakes and lollies (I didn't point out that they were the 'sugars' I was doing away with - though it was implied).  haha before you know it she may end up being a fts person as well.

Maybe u should look into have a 'yearly'? meeting of FTS families where everyone gets to meet those faces that match the names online.  Pick a place and day and see how many turn up.  I plan travelling to America in about 2 years or so, I may even make it to one.  ;)  Or if everyone's passport is up to date, I have enough space for a few tents.

Just reporting in my last month's progress -

fanfare please - 3lbs released into the universe to find another home -  ;D

I have been hopping on and off the scales during the month, it's been up and down a bit.  I was thinking this morning if I could actually put my scales in hiding for a complete month and only check when my monthly weigh comes due.
I've decided to do it - I'm going to slip my scales on top of a hall cupboard - to retrieve I will actually have to drag a ladder down the corridor and get them - far to lazy to go to the bother unless I'm desparate.  lol

See you in a month's time.    ;)
