Ask Umpa / Recipe Suggestions
« on: January 26, 2011, 10:12:40 PM »
Hello, I Was just thinking about my food intake stratigies, and was wondering if anyone have a Recipe they're willing to share as of a meal replacement bar recipe. I feel like this type of food would be the best of my food intake because I'm in College at least 3-4 days/week, and always on the go at least 4-5 times/week. I do have Protine Powder It's the ALLMAX ALLWHEY PROTIEN POWDER Chocolate Flavour and Vinailla Flavour. I don't cary a lunch on me at College, I buy, but I do Carry a Backpack with me and can store these bars in my backpack for the day and when I get hungry say every 1.5-2 hours while I'm in class. I know I have Classes from 8 AM- 1 PM and I do get a break here and there, but don't get to eat till 1:30 PM. Then on top of all that have class again later that day. Or since my progran is all part of stageworking like lighting, sound, Special effects etc.. Plus also being on the go working at these types of shows. Still need to eat a meal. This Is why I'm asking for Recipe Suggestions for me to make this type of product and continuosly ust them wherever I go. The Only Other thing with this Recipe question is that I need to be able to purchase the supplies for these recipes from an Ontario Canada Food Store.

General Discussion / What can I do for my food?
« on: January 13, 2011, 11:23:29 PM »
I just started my 2nd Semester @ College and have no idea how to work arround this food plan. I'm in class full time 4 days/week and my cafeteria sell fries burgers cookies, chocolate milk, pop, water, and much more foods that are too pricey. There's even 2 Tim Hortons' at the college, and our book store sells trail mix snacks, candy, and Coca Cola products, w have Pepsi vending macines and candy vending machines throughout the halls. Today i had a couple homemade brownies and leftover pan-fried chicken breast and mixes vegies with a bottle of water.

How do I put u with this stuff when I'm in a full time program and will be in class for 24.5 hours/week? I also continuously walk up and down stairs there while carrying a backpack and a laptop bag with me.

I do have a credit card but it's only for college items therefore can't order the food items online. half the things I can't get in Canada. I love fish, and other foods, we have pizza places all over town, same with chinese food, and big name fast food places.

As I do this I'm also trying to live a lifestyle as a full time college student, an Umpire for local upcoming baseball season, and after April being in the gym everyday in prep for my upcoming football, and I current curl for my college on Monday nights.

How do I work this in ifI'm 6'1, weigh currently 280 lbs want to lower weight to goal of 240-235. I'm an Endomorph body build with big bone structure and with my size I play as a D Tackle in football.

Please help me. :-\

On Friday, I had beer battered fish with fries n the side at my town legion, all foo was deep fried.
I Live in Essex Ontario Canada, you'd probable have to look it up in google maps on the internet to see where I am, am right in the midst of a farming county, I live 20 minutes from windsor Ontario, which is across the USA border from Detroit Michigan, how can I adapt to the food's within this book? especailly if I'm planning now to got to New York this upcoming Christmas, and possably a cruise in the new year. What would I do in regards to the food?

I know people that work for food places in my family, my family has friends that work in Wonder Bread, Pepsi, and are in the grocery industry in the office making sales, Do you know any Substitues for food from these industries I can have for this Diet? I'm also goin to be playing football in the summer, and want to know If on this diet can I drink Gatorade if I'm playing sports or oin the gym training as I will be lifting heavy gear, beating in heads as a Defensive Tackle, and trying to be on this diet?

I just finished the book.

It was amazing!

My mother wants to read it now and then the 2 of us are going to empty our fridge.

I just watch the Drs TV Show and they had a book call the 17 Day challenge to lose weight.

I think that this book should get advertised on that show.

I have been reding the book, just about done, and them my mother's probably gonna read it after me and we're going to start a mother and 2 sons diet, my almost 14 year old brother is small but skinny, he's built like my grandfather was when he was a kid, now my grandfather's over 300 lbs and is now Diabetic, but I believe after I'm done the book, and my mother is too that we'll deffineately all be doing this diet all at once.

am I allowed to mix Protein Powders with my water or make protien shakes with protien powder? I use the ALLMAX ALLWHEY brand Protien Powder this is the link below:

http://www.allmaxnutrition.com/442-ALLWHEY-2-lb-3-Stage-Whey-Protein-Matrix.aspx

I use this stuff with cereal, or I make protien shakes with it. my protie shakes are usually ice, milk, vanilla yogart (if available), 1-2 scoops of this Protien Powder. I usually have this after I workout.

OK Thank You.

I know most of the foods, but I do know a guy that work for the Bread Company Wonder, I know I can get bread from him, I know a guy that works for Pepsi, but I gave up all regular and diet soda for the entire year. I can get water for on the go from him. I got lots of family members that work in grocery stores, I can Probably ask them if the got some stuff.

Is there anything that I could sub in for spicy food item or for pickels, ketchup, mustard. I'm not a fan of spicy foods at all, I used to love mustard, ketchup before now I just hate it. I will go to any fast food resturaunt and Order a burger but with only cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and Mayo depending on if it's on the burger or not. If I go to a SUBWAY I get a footlong ham, footlong coldcut, footlong, ham and turkey, all with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions, black olives, and light mayo.

I just refuse to eat spicy foods, and only like the things lited above on a sandwich.

I was looking at the shopping list and saw the peanut butter I thaught to myself they don't sell that here in Essex Ontario, Canada, we have Kraft, Skippy, Nuetella, and a couple others. And we got lot's of smuckers jams.

Can I use these as substitutes if read the lable carfully?
