General Discussion / GG Bran Crispbread
« on: August 01, 2011, 12:47:18 PM »
Hello, All!  This diet plan/way of eating works GREAT, but it just is not for me.  When I started, I bought a case of the GG Bran Crispbread and ate maybe 2 packages.
I would love to give all these unopened, perfectly good packages to someone who likes it and will use it on your weight-loss journey.
Whoever sends me their name and post office mailing address first....I will mail them free of charge to you....just so they don't go to waste.
Looking forward to hearing from someone.

Yes, Doug, that helps.
This plan is a little trickier for me because I don't eat any meat, fish, or poultry.  But I can obviously make it work since I lost 6 pounds my first week.  When most "normal" people are filling up on steak, pork chops, hamburger, chicken, etc. I feel that it is harder for me to find filling foods since I don't eat those things.  But I am managing.

General Discussion / Hood's Milk
« on: June 21, 2010, 04:22:55 PM »
Hoods recently changed its Carb Countdown milk to Calorie Countdown, but it still has only 3 carbs per 8oz. cup!   Problem is, I am having trouble finding it.
The website says it is sold all over New England and in some stores other places.  Geez, I am in Southern New Jersey....not THAT far....can't they deliver it :):)
Seriously, does anyone buy it.  I LOVE milk, and the soy, almond, etcs. milks just don't cut it.

General Discussion / Counting Carbs
« on: June 21, 2010, 06:10:02 AM »
I have read discussion on the site about counting carbs vs. not counting carbs.  How can I be sure that I don't go over 20 per day if I don't keep track?
If I go over, do I still lose weight?
Just not sure how I can do this without keeping track.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

General Discussion / Help!
« on: June 20, 2010, 03:59:38 PM »
OK, I have been on the program for one week.  Tomorrow is my first weekly weigh-in.  Feel great, can't wait to see if I lost.
Problem is, yesterday I had way too many carbs and am wondering if that one transgression will impact the bottom line a lot.  Also, is it normal to have a "bad day" now and then?  Please help with some words of encouragement.  Thanks!

Also, are we aiming for ketosis?  I have read about this and not sure if that is what the goal is....Doug?  Thanks!

Diane....we must have started the same day!  My heart aches for you with all of your important responsibilities.  I am so glad that you are now going to take care of yourself.  I, too, have made that decision.  Everyone on this website is so supportive and helpful.  I sincerely wish you all the very best.  I know you can do it!

That is so great!  I am very happy for you....and hope to be saying the same thing myself next year (just got started).

I am on day 4 and doing great, but I feel like I am missing some INTRINSICALLY low carb foods....I don't eat meat, poultry, fish.....any ideas?  Thanks.

General Discussion / Doug's schedule
« on: June 15, 2010, 07:31:31 PM »
Doug, is there any way we can know ahead of time when you are going to be on tv?  If I read the site correctly, I missed you today while I was out running mundane errands.  Would rather have seen and heard you!

General Discussion / "side effects"
« on: June 15, 2010, 07:25:45 PM »
I will try to be as delicate as possible here, I don't want to be thrown off the website on my 2nd. day.....is it normal to experience some "gastro-intestinal issues"?

Also, am I correct that the limit is 20 carbs per day?

Thanks!

General Discussion / Veggies and carbs

I was surprised to see that veggies have so many carbs!
What is the lowest one to dip into a little ranch dressing?
