Thanks.

I'm mainly seeking feedback on "aftertaste".  I have been very blessed with extraordinarily good health lifelong and making the adjustment is about taste and adjusting far more than worries about gas or my stomach.  (smile)

General Discussion / Does anyone use ... Erythritol ??

Greetings again.

Found this sugar replacement and they admit it's only 70% as sweet as sugar, which is good.

General Discussion / Does Anyone Use ... Xlear XyloSweet
« on: January 17, 2012, 12:51:50 PM »
Greetings.  I'm still very new here.  Have the Carbs Counter, Sugar Free Bakery and main book.

I deeply understand the pricelessness of the Carbs Counter, even an 8 year old can see what it indicates.

Before moving forward I must find another sugar replacement for the aftertaste of Stevia (the green bag) is horrible.

I do know about Xylitol and can get it at Whole Foods.

Whole Foods Rep just acknowledged that this Xlear XyloSweet outsells Jargo's Xylitol and Now's Xylitol BIG TIME.

Here's the stats on Xlear XyloSweet

Xlear XyloSweet -- 1 lb - $5.40 (Retail: $7.95)

Nutrition Facts
Serving Size: 1 Teaspoon (4 g)
Servings per Container: 113
Amount Per Serving   % Daily Value
Calories   9.6
Total Fat   0 mg   0%
Sodium   0 mg   0%
Total Carbohydrates   4 g   <1%
Sugars   0 g   0%
Xylitol   4 g   <1%
Protein   0 g   0%

Xlear XyloSweet Directions
When cooking, replace sugar with XyloSweet® in equal measurements. XyloSweet is heat-stable for cooking and baking, it also mixed and dissolves just like common sugar.

Warnings
XyloSweet will not cause breads and pastries to rise and is not a good choice for hard candies since it will not crystallize with heating. Xylitol is not recommended for sweetening juices and instant beverages that require large amounts of sweetener.

Knowing everyone's taste buds and tolerance for change is unique, I appreciate your feedback folks and I'm referring people to this agenda.  Blessings to all. ' Vajrayana

Greetings Umpa.

(1) No listing for AsianGrocer.Com.  I did find AsianFoodGrocer.Com.

(2) No product there named Konjac Noodles.  Will do a google search, and my house mate is Asian so yes there are Asian Markets here.

(3) Don't like regular squash at all.  If you're talking about a different product I'll have to inquire.

Thanks and please check your email for my inquires about doing a show on my Radio Channel Umpa.

Blessings.

Hello.

My (years ago) experiences with tofu were not great.  It was always rubbery.  Maybe it's gotten better, but my issue is I have zero interest in becoming a cook again.  Cooking no longer appeals to me and I look forward to being able to engage someone who loves to cook and have them master your recipes.  In spite of that, I feel this new agenda will work for me.

Thanks so much for your feedback.  :o

General Discussion / Former Sweet Tooth Addict Feedback Requested
« on: January 15, 2012, 12:39:23 AM »
Greetings.

I've made my base list of what I can switch to and I'd like to know what do you recommend regarding coffee.

I don't drink it a lot but when lifelong when I do, I use carnation milk and 3 teaspoons of sugar.  So knowing that we all have different ideas about taste here's my queries:

1. Accepting that I will be making some "taste adjustment, I don't like Stevia's aftertaste and Truvia didn't taste great either so does Xylitol have an aftertaste? I don't desire to invest $9-10 plus shipping without some basic feedback.

2. Is there a natural sugar replacement that seems to satisfy a large number of Fat To Skinny folks?

3. Generally speaking would "heavy whipping creme" be a good substitute to try for carnation milk?

4. Didn't find mayo or salad dressing in the Carbs Counter book.  Does anyone know what the grams to sugar count is?

Thanks for your feedback.  Vajrayana

General Discussion / Sugar & Carbs Counter E-Book ... Extraordinary!!
« on: January 14, 2012, 11:11:46 PM »
As a "follow my lead type with apprentice type listeners on my radio shows", I tell you that this E-Book will deeply shock even those who think they're savvy about foods and the carbs/sugar conversion.

I went through the lists, (scanned it twice and didn't see mayonnaise or salad dressing but will check again) and I made a list which is quite doable even though I'm not into cooking nor do I plan to get into cooking again.  Who would of thought you could "get excited and feel relieved" about making a major lifestyle change around food(!?) Certainly not me. (smile)

I also scanned my Sugar Free Bakery E-Book and what's there seems unbelievable but you can't tell my the way food looks that how it will serve to replace a lifelong acceptance of sugar in almost everything.  So I can honestly say that as a woman with more than (130)( pounds to to DISSOLVE so that I'm the size I was in my youth (and I'm now 65), I'm beginning to "capture of vision of this being a pleasure".

Thanks for being on Andrea's Blog Talk Show last night Doug and Sherri.  I look forward to having you as a guest on my broadcast.  I truly feel all your dedicated effort is a real eye opener for those who are bone tired of their own image in the mirror who are willing to stretch their imagination and check this out.

Blessings to all with the great reports.

Thanks so much.

Greetings Tony.

So that I'm clear, are you indicating that even though the carb count is (6) per ounce, it's not wise to use this?

I have begun nothing until I'm clear on lots of stuff.  Cooking is no longer something I enjoy doing and I'm not interested in learning to cook anew, so the feedback from both you and TooSweet is vital.

I appreciate being able to brush up against those of you who are "seasoned at this new way of living".

Thank you so much, truly.
