General Discussion / Re: my first full day of FTS
« on: January 30, 2012, 09:06:32 PM »
Hi Barb!  I'm new to FTS also so I'm glad someone else is just starting out.  I'm trying to do this and help my son who's 15 do this too.  My husband and younger son...not so much! Let's give each other encouragement!  I've made two dozen deviled eggs and salami/cream cheese roll ups for my son in place of potato chips and cookies.  I'm eating diet jello with reddi whip everytime I feel a chocolate urge come on!  These first few days I think will be the toughest!  I hope you do great!

Ok...well it's 9 pm EST and I've done great all day.  Now I am craving something chocolate so bad! I have a habit of wanting to eat a piece of chocolate every night and wash it down with a glass of milk!  I've had this habit since I was 12 years old...ughhh!  What is the best substitute for a piece of chocolate?  Any ideas?  Thanks

Hi! I purchased the new book a week ago and have read it twice.  Listened to the CD on Friday while driving in my car for several hours to a meeting. I am very excited about making changes for myself and my oldest son, 15, who at 6'1 is 255 pounds.  I am a sugar-addict and want to eat chocolate daily!!  We started the lifestyle change over the weekend however, I have not cleaned out the cabinets yet.  I have a husband and younger son who doesn't want to give up carbs!  Last year I lost 18 pounds in 3 months by going on "my "own" diet which consisted living on seafood, steak, celery w/pnut butter, V8 juice and by completely giving up breads and sweets.  I however gained it all back by October, 2011.  I didn't know anything about carb reduction weight loss plans, but essentially that is what I did last year when I lost the 18 pounds!  I'm excited about the recipes in the book. I have a total of 40 pounds to shed to really feel healthy and my son wants to get down to at least 210 pounds.  I do not have diabetes but it runs in my family so I am making these changes to help both me and my son live a healthier life.  My job is also very, very sedentary so I am working out everyday to wii dance party (30 minutes) and using the total gym for 30 minutes!
