I just went back and read my post and it seems silly that I don't have the motivation to be more disciplined. I have lost a lot of weight and I don't want to gain it back. I guess I am looking for some tips and support from anyone on how to continue on this journey. This forum is what it's for anyway....right? It just seemed weird to post that I don't have the motivation anymore! Did/do others have this feeling?

Very nice! I love horses and I grew up on a horse farm. I now live in the city and that's the only thing I miss...horses! I was also wondering how do you get those tickers? I'd love to have one of those on my profile.

General Discussion / Motivation

Hey Everyone!

I have reached my second goal about three weeks ago! I currently have lost 51 lbs. and I started Jan. 10 th 2012. However, I still want to loose about 25-35 more pounds. I have been more relaxed in my eating. Munching on a few chips at work, having a few M&M's at a party and drinking more diet pop then I should be. I have maintained my weight but I am not loosing any more. I clearly know why but I need some motivation. I may be getting bored with my food choices? I tend to make the same thing because I know how many carbs it has.  Anyway...thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

THANKS!!!

General Discussion / Re: Question for Doug

Thanks Doug! Those are great  recommendations. I am technically not a Chef. Although, I did go to a vocational school for cooking. I have a degree in Business Management and a Masters in Management. I am currently a kitchen production supervisor (I oversee the kitchen operations for lunch) for a college in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I prepare food for 800 for lunch everyday. My passion is the food industry. I love what I do. I am looking to move to the Orlando area, so if you have any connections, let me know. :)

I accidentally left my book at a friends house. Does the book say to count an egg as 1g of Carbs?

General Discussion / Question for Doug
« on: March 20, 2012, 05:54:10 PM »
Hey Doug,
I am a cook for a living. I know you mentioned you were a chef. I am not sure if you are still in the profession but I am sure you can answer my question. How do you avoid not trying the things you were eating? I find it hard to get the full flavor without swallowing the food. Also, I am finding myself nibbling on things more at work because the are there and I like the items I am eating. I am fine at home because I only keep certain things in my cupboards. Any tips?

General Discussion / Question about sugar alcohols
« on: March 13, 2012, 08:40:22 PM »
I am not clear on the sugar alcohol portion of the book. I understand that I subtract that number from the total carbs on the package. However, I went to the store to look at some sugar free candy. This is what it said....

Total Carbohydrates 15g
       sugar 0g
       isomalt 15g

Do i subtract the isomalt since it is classified as a sugar alcohol? I am not currently eating candy or sweat things but I do have the urge from time to time and would like to have something on hand instead of eating something that is way worse for me, like a Reese's Peanut Butter Egg! Anyway, I was told and have read online (in the past) that sugar alcohols do contain carbohydrates. Can someone give me more information on this for the FTS lifestyle? THANK YOU!

I started the FTS lifestyle on January 10, 2012. As of today (8 weeks later) I have lost 33lbs. My starting weight was 307lbs and if you do the math I currently weigh 274lbs!!! Does this seem about right or should I be weighing less? I am enjoying the new eating challenge, BUT do I have my days when all I want is a shamrock shake (like today)! :)
