Girly Girl Talk / Re: WHEN AUNT FLO COMES TO VISIT!!
« on: July 26, 2012, 06:01:27 PM »
Thanks guys! ;D This helps a lot! Unfortunately I can't have anything with caffeine that time of the month (root beer, pepsi, chocolate, coffee, etc). At the VERY most I can have tea. I will definitely be trying these recipes especially the red velvet cake!

Girly Girl Talk / WHEN AUNT FLO COMES TO VISIT!!
« on: July 24, 2012, 03:04:46 PM »
Ok.. so last week was a very bad week for me. I practically ate everything that I shouldn't have because of the cravings I get during that time of the month. The 2 main things I crave are potato chips and chocolate! Now here is the catch... due to the caffeine that's in chocolate, for the betterment of that time, I am supposed to stop eating chocolate at least 3-4 days before my period starts because chocolate gives me the worst cramps imaginable!! One time I had menstral cramps 5 different places in my body.. and I swear if there was a gun close by I would have shot myself to relieve the pain!! Since I have started this method I have noticed a major difference.. sometimes the cramps are barely noticeable. Though this helps me, I still crave chocolate, and usually when my cycle is done, I am double doing it because I have been craving the stuff for 5 or more days! What I find myself doing is trying to find things to substitute what I really want.. such as cake, cookies (usually oatmeal), etc. I tried making some sugar free oatmeal cookies and they were the worst cookies I ever ate in my life! I am not a huge fan of pork rinds but I can at least substitute that for the potato chips. I guess my question is.. does anyone have some excellent creamy, savory, sweet types desserts I can eat that's within the plan? Also, how do you girls cope with this time of the month? Any advice will suffice!! I am now back on track with my low carb.. and I want to stick with it because I feel so much better since I have started. My stomach does not feel as bloated, I don't feel sluggish, etc. I just need serious help for this time of the month.

ItsOverSugar...im glad you like it!!  ;D Key think to making a perfect omelet is 1) Make sure your pan is large enough for the egg to spread and 2) make sure you put enough butter to coat the bottom of pan and 3) Don't be afraid to take it off the heat if egg is cooking too fast. .. and Im gonna need the kids to eat some mushrooms...lol j/k Im glad you liked it though.

Waterlilly that makes sense! By me being a dessert junkie, I know I was inhaling carbs like nobodys business! I feel the same way that any signs that my body is detoxing is a good thing.

Lunch Recipes / Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza
« on: July 11, 2012, 06:35:15 PM »
1 Mission Carb Balance Whole Wheat Small Tortilla (3 net carbs)
1 small tomato cut in slices (I use Campari..I also keep the seeds in for the extra "juice" to replace pizza sauce.. may not need whole tomato depending on size)
8-10 pepperoni slices
1 slice portabella mushroom chopped
1/4 c shredded mozzarella cheese
garlic powder
black pepper
nonstick cooking spray (I use Olive Oil or Butter)

Preheat oven to 350F. Take a pizza pan (or any flat pan) and put aluminum foil on top. Spray foil with cooking spray. Lay tortilla on foil and layer with tomato slices, mushroom, cheese, pepperoni, garlic, and black pepper. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Tip: In the middle of the tortilla, its better not to lay the seeds there do to it can get a little soggy, though pizza is actually done. Also, depending on how thin you were able to cut your tomato, you may have to smash it on the tortilla a little so it can lay flat. ;D

Thanks Doug... I figured it may be because my body is used to the carbs and how it fills it up, and since the intake has dramatically dropped it was the reason it was doing it. I just had to ask.

@ Andrea electricity is truly a wonderful thing...lol. I make sure I keep water on deck, especially to keep me from thinking that im hungry when im not. I will be on here faithfully to get tips, ask questions, bitch, moan, etc...lol. I will conquer this!

1/2 c Egg Beaters (or 2 eggs)
1-2 slices of portabella mushrooms
2 Jimmy Dean sausage patties
1/4 c shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp of heavy cream
1-2 tbsp sour cream
1-2 tbsp salsa (I like medium/hot)
pat of butter (enough to cover bottom of pan)
black pepper (optional)

Pour Egg Beaters and heavy cream in bowl and whisk. Chopped the mushrooms and mix in the egg mixture. Take one pan and cook your sausage patties thoroughly and set aside. Take another pan and melt the butter. Pour egg mixture and let it cook until you see the egg fluff. Add cheese and black pepper throughout omelet, and put sausage on one side. On the other side flip to cover sausage. Get a plate and flip omelet to your plate. Add sour cream and salsa.

Ok, so I started the FTS plan officially on July 7th. I keep reading about the detox and how you will experience headaches. I haven't experienced this as of yet. I do feel like I am no where near as sluggish as I used to be eating sugar/carbs, I have more energy. I also seems like as if my stomach wants to do a topsy turvy on me.. like almost make me think im hungry when I'm not, especially since I could have just eaten an hour ago for example (hope this makes since..lol). I make sure I drink plenty of water, and usually it goes away after I do that. Is this part of the detox? I guess I am wanting to know what other peoples experiences were in regards to their body detoxing so I can get an idea.

P.S. Sorry if this sounds confusing..lol

Thanks guys for the words of encouragement!! I haven't been on here due to electrical issues in the home, but I'm back and ready to write about my journey! I finished the book the next day and started the program July 7th. This program is much easier than I thought! Don't get me wrong, I made a few errors, but overall I'm confident that I can stick with this. I have even created some recipes of my own following the guide FTS. I'm really looking at this as a life style change, and started to tell a few people to come along for the ride.

General Discussion / Just received my FTS book today!!

So I first heard about this book from an old friend in high school who started this program. She would post pics of the foods that she would be eating to lose weight..and for the most part they looked pretty tasty. As of 2 weeks ago she has reached her goal weight and is looking fabulous! Being the curious person I am, I looked at her profile to see if she mentions anything about what she was doing.. and sure enough, there was a picture of the FTS in her album. I ordered my book Wed last week and just received it today. Im already on page 75. Though what I have read so far makes sense, especially since I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth, I have to admit Im a little nervous if I will be able to keep up with this. Im so ready for a change, but I know one of my problems is that I will get bored with something and the next thing you know..back to square one. I hope this program works for me, because SOMETHINGS GOT TO GIVE!! I will have to stay prayed up, because others in the household I know will not be giving up their ice cream and cake for me. I havent really looked at the recipes yet, but I hope the ingredients are easy to find and dont cost a fortune (another reason why I have failed in the past). Hopefully I will finish this book tomorrow so I can start my journey. Im hoping this forum helps me..because I know there will be good and BAD days.. and them bad days watch out...lol
