General Discussion / My Roller Coaster day

Hi All,

Well I'm into day #2. I woke up before the alarm this morning and felt well rested ( that usually doesn't happen and snooze gets hit once or twice lol) I know we aren't supposed to weigh ourselves every day but after reading other posts and seeing that people have lost weight daily curiousity got the best of me. As of this morning I'm down 2.4 pounds from yesterday is that normal? I got on and off the scale 3 times just to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I won't be weighing myself every day but will be joining TOPS next week and will be weighed in on a weekly basis and only at meetings. So today started off great or so I thought. I got to work and after about 2 hours the headache started creeping in so I drank more water then I felt almost spaced out like i was in a bubble so i decided to chew a piece of sugar free gum which kinda helped. I ate my lunch and that feeling went away but I still have the headache. Other then that though I managed to eat what I brought for lunch and stick to my plan even though there were moments of temptation I stayed strong. Please I can tell you that piece of sugar candy is so not worth the work and the detox symptoms I've went threw the last two days lol I won't be going threw sugar detox again once this is done. Well that was my day I hope all you had a nice day too. :)

Well it's been almost 12 hours since I've been awake and I think my body just figured out I was holding back the sugar train lol. I didn't end up eating everything I had planned to today and even changed what I had for supper and am pleased to say so far I have eaten only 13.5 net carbs for the day. Right now I'm happy about that however my body isn't I feel warm and have a headache. 13 days of detox to go hopefully it won't be that long fingers crossed. I think if I keep up with drink the water maybe it won't be so bad as it will be flushing the toxins out. I did discover that I got a craving for something sweet after I ate my lunch today. Does that happen to any of you and if so is that just my mind or just part of the detox process? Anyways I hope all you had a fantasic day. :)

Breakfast
2 hardboiled egg whites 0
3 strips bacon 0

snack

1/4 cup sunflower seeds 2
1 sf yogurt cup 3

lunch

1/2 cup shirataki noodles 1
tomato sauce 1
1 tbsp onions chopped .5
1 tbsp tomatoes chopped .5
ground turkey 0
1 oz mozarella cheese low fat 0.5
1 cup lettuce 1
italian dressing 0

snack

2 stalks celery 1.5
1 tbsp natural peanut butter 1

supper

1/2 can tuna
1 tbsp mayo 1
1/2 onion 3
1 tortilla 3

snack

sugar free jello snack pack 0

total net carbs for the day 19

Hi All,

Just wanted to share a product I found when I went to the States this weekend. It's Laughing Cow Classic Cream Cheese Wedges. It has <1 carb per wedge. I haven't tried it yet but when I do I'll let you all know how it is. :)

Hey All,

I"m planning on starting fts on Monday and am just wondering if I will get sugar withdrawl and is so what to expect? I've been reading lots on the forum and can't wait to get started. This weekend I'm going to try and put together a couple menus together for the week so that I don't fall back into old patterns. I'll already have planned what to eat so that I just don't grab something I shouldn't be. Hope everyones weekend is going good. Ty Cindle

Breakfast Recipes / Low Carb Breakfast Wrap

I'm new to the fts site and would like to share a recipe with you all. I hope I have my carb counts right if not please let me know.

1 tsp of fat free plain cream cheese  0 carbs
1 tortilla 3 carbs
2 slices of bacon 0 carbs
1 whole egg fried 0 carbs
2 slices of tomato 1 carb
salt pepper and lemon pepper Mrs dash to taste 0 carbs

1) Spread cream cheese on tortilla
2) Place  cooked egg bacon and tomatoes on top
3) Sprinkle with salt pepper and lemon pepper Mrs Dash to taste
4) Roll tortilla and contents up
5) Enjoy :)

Hi All,

I just finished reading Doug's book and have a question. I like the idea of this way of eating and am willing to make it a life style change, the only thing that bothers me is the fake sugars. I'm just wondering if Agave nectar (which I use already) would be suitable instead of using say splenda, aspartame etc?
