General Questions / Metformin-Type 2???
« on: July 16, 2010, 11:57:04 AM »
Wow, I was so excited that I lost 5 pounds in one week...but now the doc put me on Metformin (250 twice a day) and I've gained back 3 pounds!! Still following diet perfectly. Does anyone know if this is common or am I just weird?? :-\ Do those taking metformin notice difficulty losing weight. Maybe I'm concerned for nothing and all will level out. Sure hope so.

I have been losing my hair for the past 3 years. The top is nearly gone and doctor's can't find any cause. So I will definitely try out these vitamins. Any names or brands I can ask for?? I would be oh so happy if this would be the answer!!

Actually, I've tried them both. I have also tried mild sleeping pills but I was so hung over from them the next day it just wasn't worth it. I do like the idea of jello and whipped cream at 2 A.M tho!! Today is day three and I did great again today, but found it very difficult for some reason. My keytones are at 4. Is that to high? I am not diabetic but I am considered insulin resistant. I did send a post about this keystones stuff but, have since found Doug's write up on them.

My am not type 1 nor type 2 for that matter. I'm told I'm insulin resistant. My keytones are at 2.5 and happened within 2 days. Is that ok?
how high is still healthy. This week I am trying for 6 carbs or less.

Thanks for the comments. Made it thou day one, had 11 carbs, but need to get the proper groceries.
Does it take about two weeks to see results,  for example blood sugar levels, and weight lose. I had my thyroid
removed in January and since then everything seems to have gone (further) south.  I have insomnia, so after laying
or wondering around until 2 AM I get hungry again (pretty sure it hunger). Naturally I really crave carbs and
something sweet at that point.
This will be day three of reading about carb addiction. I am truly amazed at what I'm reading. Its all has my name
all over it. Anyway, I may be a pain in everyone's rump for awhile, but be patient with me while I learn please. :-[
