Used to be a yo-yo'er myself.  It might take a while for you to get used to the new lifestyle.  Hang in there and keep the faith.  It really works!

Umpa, I think our Moms exchange notes!  I LOVE "food pusher", stealing it to use on a lot of people I know ;D.

WOo hoo Lee!.  That's absolutely great.  Just believe and don't listen to the naysayers.  There are plenty out there. ;)

The lies have hurt a lot of people, and  not just financially.  I just turned a friend to FTS after years of her "believing" in Oz.  Can't get myself to call him Dr!

Umpa, you are so right Lying is lying.  We try and teach that to our kids.  Shame about "respected" adults.

Oh Boy, I'm so glad you started this thread Morgan.

Talk about a trigger, I'm fine until I get the 5 o'clock "I need spicy cheetos" howl from somewhere inside me.  I know I'm not hungry, its just one of those thing!!!   Funnily enough the scale is one of my triggers, I get on there and if its not what I think it should be I get all distracted, stop eating, exercise like crazy and go off the rails.  So I limit weighing to once a week and that helps.

Tony's brakes work wonders and a 5-10 minute brisk walk.  I always try and remember how that short walk felt like before ( it was like climbing a mountain and I hated it), and how easy and pleasant it seems now. That's my way of instant gratification.

Tony, I too have had a similar experience to rennard.  I joined FTS 3.5 weeks ago and its been up and down, but you guys have been so helpful and supportive that I'm getting back in the groove.

Do you think it would be okay to do a zero day (or two) every week and would that help?  I love my greens and also took your advice about the metamucil caplets, thank you!

Elizabeth, I SOOOO get what you're saying.  I work full time and have 2 young children, so weekends are a HUGE distraction, more like  attraction to all "the stuff".

Tony, you are absolutely correct, a few minutes of connecting with yourself does the trick.  For me, its mindfulness about my faith, 5-7 deep breaths and a short walk in the parking lot/backyard/ or wherever you are.

Also, just off topic for a minute, I read (on the FTS site) about planning and entering your menu for the next day (on whatever app you use, I use my fitness pal).  It has worked WONDERS and kept me focused for the last 5 days, without any stress or confusion.  Also managed to keep WELL under 20 net carbs.  Yippeeee!!!

Cheers and stay the course :)

Weight Loss Stalled! WHY? / Re: 10 Week Stall
« on: May 20, 2014, 05:38:32 PM »
Thanks Tony!

I have been drinking about 100 oz of water everyday because its just become a habit and something I started doing when I was heavier.  I like the idea of a low carb shake.  I usually wait before I have anything until after my shower (and usually get distracted by work).  So I'll try this.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.

Thank you Susie.

Folks I have another "issue"  Was doing great the first 2 weeks then restarted vigorous exercising (weight training/running etc).  My hunger levels have skyrocketed and I'm craving "the stuff" ( my code for carbs).  Have NOT given in, yet.

I'm fine when I just walk (3 fastish-5 miles easy pace)or do moderate level calisthenics or even very light weights.  Does this get better?

Hi Umpa:

I found this recipe in an old file and tried it out yesterday.  It was pretty good.  My tweeks are in () near the ingredients.  Comments/Changes?

Peanut Butter Protein Bars Ingredients:

2 tablespoons no-sugar peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon liquid stevia
1/4 cup Sweetner (i used less than 1/8 of a cup)
1 scoop Whey protein powder (I used vanilla)

Melt peanut butter and butter in microwave or double boiler. Mix in the sweeteners thoroughly. Add protein powder and stir until it forms a ball. (You may need to use clean hands to aid in the thorough mixing.) Roll up in ball and knead a bit; then separate into even portions, shaping as desired. Refrigerate until firm.

Makes 4 bars. Approx 2 carbs per bar.
