General Discussion / Re: Bad night!
« on: October 14, 2011, 04:41:29 AM »
Eat the hamburger!  Be sure to pile on the "no-carb" goodies.  Like a few dill pickle slices, mustard, a slice of onion, a slice of cheese.  Sometimes you just got to do it.  At least you aren't craving sweets.  Even then, there are things you can have.  Then go for a walk and go to bed, sleep like a baby!  No guilt there!  :D  I have found that if I eat my dinner later in the evening, I don't get hungry for snacks before bed.  If I eat early, there are too many hours before bedtime and I am hungry for another whole meal.

Great A1C reading!  Doesn't it feel good to get good news like that?  My reading was 5.3 just recently.  I was ecstatic!  I haven't posted in awhile, but I'm still doing great.  No weight gain. I have stopped loosing weight, but my new size 6 skinny jeans says I look good!  I have FTS to thank for that.  And TooSweet.

Desserts and Sweets / Re: katary's pork rind cupcakes ROCK

OK, I'm trying these!  My brother said pork rinds are 99 cents at Aldi's Foods.  They are $2.00 a bag in other stores.  I'm on my way to Aldi's.  They have all kinds of cheaper groceries.  They look delicious.  I am back on FTS again.  My blood sugar started back up, so I am trying to behave again. LOL  Don't need to loose much more weight, but loosing inches around the middle would be nice.  Can't wait to try these.

Thanks for tne encouragement everyone!  That home-made ice cream is a killer for a lot of people.  I'm around it all the time!  I've even learned not to "lick" the dipper.  HA HA!  Not that I'd do that anyway, but maybe my fingers.  The burgers I can have, just not the buns.  That helps.  I weigh on Sunday, we'll see how I'm doing.  Over at the nursing home where my husband lives, the CNA thought I was his daughter!  Now I know I'm getting skinny!  LOL   :D :D :D

I worked Labor Day for my boss.  She sets up a cargo wago and sells her famous home-made ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) along with Black Angus burgers/chips/sodas, etc.  I had to help her do this and I was exposed to all these goodies.  I never ate any except a hamburger pattie and a diet Coke all day long.  LOL  However, I have gained back 4 pounds because I have eaten some small amounts of bread/pasta products over the past two weeks.  I know how to fix this, so I'm back on the FTS again.  I know I can do it.  I'd like to lose another 10 pounds.  I think I can, I think I can!!

I made the chocolate cake today.  Put it in 8 cupcake papers and had enough left over to fill an 8 by 8 inch pan.  I embedded walnut halves in the flat one and it came out like dark cake-like brownies.  Yum!  I froze the cup cakes for another day.  I'll probably put the cream cheese frosting on those later on.  The brownies, I cut into 6 big pieces.  I now have a quick snack for the middle of the night.  LOL  It's an old habit of mine.  I did try to post pictures, but it tells me there isn't enough memory.  I have no idea what that means. :-[

I have a small catering business and cook for a small ranch (their family and staff).  So, as you can guess home-made cookes are a must.  I have to keep the cookie jar full and the catered box lunches always have 2 cookies/bx.  So, any FTS cookie recipes would be helpful, especially oatmeal raisin.  I bake the regular ones almost daily, so it would be nice if I had FTS ones for me!  I try so hard not to sample while I cook, but it's hard!

Way to go Scott!  :o

Absolutely!  You are doing great!  That extra fat has no where else to do go but "bye-bye"!  Be sure to set up a journal and record measurements as well as weight.  I also keep a food journal and I can clearly see that my weight loss stalls immediately after eating too many carbs on any given day. (Like eating out at an Italian restaurant).  Everyone is eating pasta/pizza/bread and I am eating wings and salad.  That fresh bread is soooo hard to resist.  Oh well, I am doing what my body needs me to do.  You can do this, we're all here for you.   :) :)

I have lost almost all of my extra weight.  My friend from Brussels (whom I haven't seen for 6 yrs) was just here visiting.  She thought my weight loss was from grief and didn't want to mention it.  But finally she did ask me not to lose anymore, but to start taking care of myself.  Well, I had to explain FTS to her and she was so thrilled for me.  So, sometimes people won't say so, but they do notice the new you!  Keep up the good work!  The rest will come off.  :) :) :) :) :)

Welcome aboard Renee!  Stick with FTS and see where it can take you.  I just love it.  I live alone too and don't like left-overs either.  So, when I bake a chicken, I cut it into quarters and freeze 3/4.  I take it off the bone and throw away the skin first.  It sure makes for a quick salad or other chicken dishes.  Cheaper than prepared cooked chicken.   Also, you might get divided freezer plates and freeze complete meals as you cook.  Just make 1/2 a recipe and make up your TV dinners.  This helps a lot for me.  Good luck!  4 pounds is a good beginning.  :D :D :D :D :D :D

Product Reviews / Re: Water and Mio liquid water enhancers

OMG!!  Suslyn got me started on these drink enhancers.  I use them all the time, even at home!  I just don't drink enough water and I know drinks with carbonated water (soda) aren't that good for you.  I like the Strawberry Watermelon too.  Just don't do like I did and accidently "squirt" it across the table at a restaurant.  Hold it close or into the water before squeezing.  What a mess! (It was funny though)

Hi everyone!  Sara Lee's 100% Whole Wheat 45 calories per slice bread is only 5g per slice.

Label says:  Total fat 5g, Cholesterol 0mg, Sodium 80mg, Carbohydrates 7g, Dietary Fiber 2g, Sugars 1g, Protien 3g

Wouldn't this make one slice about 5g???  Sooooo???? Easy to find in any grocery store.  If it doesn't spike your blood sugars, one slice now and then???  You could try it.  BUT if you are really trying to drop the weight fast you might not want to try it yet.  Maybe later on??  Have a happy day! :) :) :) :) :)
