Thanks for all the support, it means a lot to have others on the journey too.  Sometimes it makes me cry to think other people really care and I know they mean it, because they know all about it.  I have support at home but it makes me feel good to get acknowledged by people who are just like me and our working hard at trying to accomplish a goal.  Hope

Hi Doug,  I'm still here and am doing well.  Hope you had a nice Christmas and a will have a Great New Year too!  I know I will, I went to the doctor again and my blood sugars are still normal and my blood pressure is too. I am working towards my last 20 pounds of weight loss.  My back is much better now and soon I will be able to exercise again and walk the beach and do most of what I use to.  Thankyou so much for being there for us and also your wife.
Hope

Don't be to down on yourself, you have lost a lot of weight! WOW!  Women were made to store fat and have babies, wouldn't you know it.  Men have a hard time losing weight but women have it even harder!  My husband always loses weight faster than me, and that is a pain in the a-- but girl you have lost almost half a body.  Almost 4 sacks of potatoes.  That is a lot of weight.  Good luck to both of you.

Hope all are doing well and got through the holidays.  I ate a few carbs through the hollidays but knew that would happen so I was ok with it.  I went to the doctor Thursday and for the second time in 6 months my blood sugar was normal (6.2) and my blood pressure was normal.  I thank Doug and his book and he and his wife's dedication to helping all of us to get our lives back.  I am on my last 20 pounds. My goal is 150 pounds and I know I will get there. :) To me patience is the key to my success. When I started on Fat to Skinny fast and easy I weighed 199 pounds and had a 8.0 sugar level  and my blood pressure was high.  I am also a diabetic as of the last 3 years and my doctor was not happy and neither was I.  My clothes were all to tight and the doctor kept wanting to put me on so much medication that I was scared.  Now, my weight is down, my sugars are normal, and my doctor and I are both happy about the change in my body.  I am 60 years old and want to be around to see my grandkids grow up. I don't know what fate has in store for me but at least I know now what I can do for me to be more healthy.  I also tore a disk in my back when I started Fat to Skinny and that was so disheartening, but I never gave up and I am doing much better with that now. I had to be patient with the pain and went to an accupuncturist.  He helped me a lot throught the pain and Fat to Skinny helped me with my life.  So I'm still here and have been since I believe last June.  Maybe some of you will remember me.  Wishing you all success in the New Year!  Your friend, Hope

Well, it's been awhile since I have been able to check in.  I have been on a plateau for the last 3 weeks.  I finally lost a pound yesterday.  I started at 199 and now weight 167. I still want to lose 17 more pounds.  My back is still very sore since I tore my lower disk ( Just as I started my weight loss) but at least I can sit and drive the car again. My activity level is still hindered but all things in time. It is frustrating though because I miss walking on the beach and doing the things I use to do.  I haven't been back to the doctor since my last report but My Blood Sugar was Normal at that point in time.  I am diabetic and for my blood sugars to be normal was amazing.  I go back to the doctor next in January so will report back on that. I finally learned how to post my picture.  This was taken halloween.  I went as a plain M&M.  Since I don't eat them anymore, I dressed like one.  :)  My husband was the M&M with nuts.  I thought it just deserts , no pun intended, : ) since I was a slave to M&M's for years.  Hope everyone is doing well, I thankyou all for being there for me.

Well, I am doing much better with my back.  I weighed 199 at the end of May and now I weigh 170 as of today.  I went to my doctor and she checked my sugar level and I have brought my sugar level down to 6.2 which is in normal range. She was so shocked by my results! She told me she was so proud of me and I was proud of myself. She said what I was doing was working and told me to continue eating this way.  Doug, you and your wife, have changed my life. I haven' t been on here in a while because of my back pain, but it is slowly improving too. Eating right isn't hard to do when you understand how to do it, I am so happy about my weight loss! Like I said before, I have done every weight program and paid lots of money and never really lost the weight, but that's because I wasn't told how much sugar is in everything.  So until I stopped dumping sugar into my body even when I thought I was eating right, nothing worked.  This new way of eating is wonderful and I don't feel hungry or deprived.  Plus I can still satisfy my craving every now and then with dessert or a little sugar free candy.  Well good luck all. I'm still new at posting, so hope I am doing it right. Hope

beeps, sorry It's taken me so long to get back to you.  The consensus is I have a pinched nerve in my lower lumbar area.  That's why I haven't been on the net for a few days.  Hope you are doing well !!

Doug, well now I know about the downward dog! I have been looking into yoga for my back.  The pain is really getting annoying but I have still been eating right and have lost another pound so I am down 22 pounds now, with 30 left to go.  Thanks for your support. Hope

Umpa, thanks for your support and great recipes.  I am so glad you and Doug are there for us.  You both make me feel special.  This is my 10th week and I have lost another pound so that makes 22 pounds so far.  I have about 30 more to go.  My back has really been bothering me,  it's hard to sit upright for long periods of time. That's why I am just now getting back to you. The consensus is a pinched nerve in my lower lumbar. Let's put it this way, I know I have a "PAIN" in the "butt" :o  .  Sometimes it gets so bad it's hard to concentrate but I just keep a positive attitude and eat right.  Will be talking to you again soon.  Hope   :D
