General Discussion / OK so get this....
« on: July 08, 2010, 11:54:06 PM »
So a friend of mine that I have been friends with for 26 years called me about 2 and a half months ago and asked me to join a "weight loss challenge" with her on Wed nights for 10 weeks.
At the time, I said I couldnt do it, I was just running ragged toward the end of school and didnt have time to spare.

She lost 20 pounds in those 10 weeks and 6 extra in the few weeks since then.
She called me last week and said another challenge is starting, this time for 8 weeks.  Since it is summer time and I have a little extra time and am doing well on FTS for 5 weeks now I thought it might give me motivation to do this.  No plan to follow she said...

So we pull up and I said, so is this through community ed or something? How did you hear about this?"
She said she read it in the newspaper...then it came out. She said, "oh, she also sells Herbalife"
I said, "Oh NO!" I am NOT interested...furthermore been there done that!"  Lost alot of money and not weight...if I did I gained it all back quickly plus.
Soooo...she said she is not pushy.
We go in and stand in line to weigh...I didnt see the HUGE table full of Herbalife bottles, shakes etc for sale yet.  We start the meeting and she says you don't have to buy Herbalife but you will LOSE ALOT MORE if you do.  I told her I gave up sugar 5 weeks ago. Her comment was "oh you can't do that, you need sugar for energy!"  I then told her that I have more energy than I have had in years. She looked soooo confused.

Anyway, she started her schpeel and I sat patiently, 95% of the women did NOT buy her products. So I met new friends and will see what happens, friendly competition won't hurt me...right? Sandy  ???

Oh no Doug!
Could you feel your heart pounding out of your chest from all the sugar and caffeine?
I'm sorry that happened to you!

Mountain Dew was a favorite of mine. I have not had regular pop in weeks...I bet it really affected you after years...
Hope you feel better fast!

Susie!
You were half way to Minnesota! Should have come to say hi!  :D

I am feeling more energy and not too sure about inches lost but clothes feel a LOT better!
I have always watched the scale too so it is disappointing to see it move (or not move) slowly....
I just take one day at a time...sometimes one MINUTE at a time.
We will get there!
We got to stick together!  ;)

It is awesome!
My teenage daughters LOVE it...
It tastes like quiche...I make one early in the week and enjoy a slice before work each
day!
My 9 year old loves it too...better than the real thing she says!
Sandy  :D

Put some salsa or sour cream on top for some added joy!  ;)

The fiber tabs might be OK...

Now I eat the GG Bran Crispbread, great if you can find them!

Cyndi,
I just got this response (if anyone knows how to set the settings so I can see
when I get a response, or even if that is possible, please let me know)...
I did realize that GH bread was high in carbs...but thanks for showing me the labels.
I will do the same and go to the store and compare.
I just love this Sugar Free bread I bought, its thick and chewy.
The first 2 weeks on the plan I ate one piece per week...now I haven't touched it.
I might have to have some this week...SF Jelly would be good on it too!
Wish I had some, I bet it is a real treat...Im craving something sweet.

One of the things that works great for me (and my girls) is St. Ives Facial Scrub,
I use it EVERY morning in the shower...comes in a medicated version too.
Very cheap at Walmart...
Might help with the dryness...

Wow Owensmath, that is great!
I felt the same way Brenda does...at first.
I don't know if I would have done so well if I wouldn't have
found this forum...it helps me tremendously!

I just made macafoney and cheese, after dinner.
I use it for the week to have a slice before work.
It tastes just like quiche!  All the kids love it too!  :D
Very filling...give it a try if you haven't yet.

Welcome and GREAT JOB!!!
I bought a case of the GG Bran Crispbread online, I got free shipping too!
At first  I was wondering what I could eat on them...so I wrote in and asked my forum friends
for suggestions.  Now I love eating them and have made chicken salad, egg salad and many dips
to dip them in.
They help me tremendously in staying regular...give them a shot!
Sandy :)
