Ask Umpa / ketchup
« on: July 09, 2013, 03:46:47 PM »
Is the Westbrae ketchup brand ok? It seems to be sugar free and low carb! Also I ordered the NOW brand of almond meal. Is it too many carbs to make my own from ground almonds? One more thing...have you heard about the new black bean spaghetti from explore Asian? It sounds good. I make pasts from zucchini but this one may be good too. Please tell me about all 3 of these things. Thank you.

Oh well. I still think they are a very lowcarb high protein very good meal replacement when you are someone like me who has huge digestive issues. They are easier on the gut.

Funny Umpa...green umpa.  You can find hemp hearts (shelled seeds) at Costci or Nutiva. I eat these often also.

Taby Taby I eat flax, chia, all that every day.  I overdid nuts when I was raw all last Summer.  Soy...I love tofu and tempeh, but many, MANY people tell me to avoid soy...too processed.  I don't know, it seems to agree with me.  Hey, I was just cleaning my kitchen floor on my hands and knees (I did this for exercise as well as cleaning because I'm so, so out of shape) and VOMIT was coming into my throat right from my gut (obviously from the gut, where else?)....I am not digesting well at all.  I truly think I have to do this thing AS a vegan with my juicer, smoothies and everything raw.  I cannot digest.  It's not NORMAL to vomit in your throat and my gut is always sick.  Yes, I do need your help for sure, thank you.

Hi Tony, I appreciate the kind words and the support.  It doesn't matter, no matter what I do, my body won't release weight.  I simply have to starve for my body to lose weight, the way I did on Medifast, which was miserable.

I eat one to two Tablespoons every single day. Same with flax meal. I couldn't live without chia
How do you feel about hemp hearts Umpa?

Yes Tony! I have been a musician all my life! I remember those days too. Barry is nice. He is on NPR now. Did you listen to my albums? I hope you all will. I still write songs both serious and funny and make my living with music and comedy. Umpa go to www.bandcamp.com
While on there look up Marian Pearl. You will see my 2 albums on there. Give them a listen when you can. They take a while between songs but just wait...they will all come on one after another...they take a bit of time inbetween.

I live shellfish but became allergic to it as an adult. These would be great with shrimp. I think you are from where I am from on the East coast. Now I am in the West. These look amazing. Can't wait to make them and eat all I want! Have to get some fresh cauliflower. Is there another veg that would work for rice too? I can dip these in tamari. I had another funny typo. I meant that I have NORI sheets in my cupboard!

Thanks. I also have seen those salads in a jar and yes they are cute and cool. I actually don't even like salad! But with the bacon cheese and all of that I would enjoy it. Tony yes that is true. Any overrating even protein turns to fat. You are right. But as TooSweet knows me well....measuring, counting weighing makes me crazy. And I am already a short drive from crazy! LOL. I honestly cannot count every carb. I can't do it. I have to know that I have "free" foods like meats, non starchy veg etc and just eat when I am hungry. It will work. It can't fail if I do that. To eat pretty much no carb foods and to just count the carbs on the other types of food.

Oh I know Umpa and Doug. I stopped seeing him quickly. I have a good doc now. A lot of people including many doctors think that meat causes heart disease. I can't listen to that. When you say post my numbers are you talking about carb numbers or my blood sugar and weight numbers? Oh and in that posting dissasenmble was supposed to say diabetes! Some typo!

General Questions / giant salad question

I am really hungry and I made a giant salad of romaine, 1/2 cucumber,  some chard leaves, one radish (large)  with ranch (less than one garb per 2 TBSP).  Please tell me...is there anything like this big salad that I could eat freely without counting every carb?

General Questions / Doug! Your tuna rolls!

I want to make the hot and spicy tuna rolls! I watched you make them on YouTube. They look delicious! I could eat 20 of those...I watched it and now I am starving! I already have Noriega sheets, green onion and asparagus in the house but nothing else. Tell me where do I find such nice raw tuna to use for these?  How many of them can I eat?

You all can see a small snippet of my stand-up on YouTube under Marian Weiisman stand-up comedy BUT please go to www.bandcamp.com then search there for Marian Pearl (my stage name) and you will find my 2 albums on there. I have been a singer-songwriter all my life (I teach singing as a main job...I have voice teaching CDs and booklets...Doug you will have to show me how to market those!) and I would love to share these with you. You can listen to them for free. One album is called "Pearls of Wisdom" and the other is a comedy song album (many that Dr. Demento used to play...you will hear him on there) and it's called "Gangsta Mutha Jew"! I hope you enjoy and please friend me on facebook too! I love and appreciate all of you on here.

Yes Tony. When we do FTS we could be eating very high calories but that doesn't matter does it? I love butter, coconut oil, olive oil and fatty meat (saturated fat). I have to take digestive enzymes because I don't have my gall bladder.
