Lean On My Shoulder / Re: I have a sensitive question
« on: January 05, 2014, 03:18:05 PM »
thanks for the info Tony, I will start drinking a lot more water. I do manage to get in 64 or more oz of liquid, not all water. I will change that. I am not a fan of prunes at all.

Today I am experiencing diarrhea tho, could be from the pancakes and syrup I had for breakfast this morning. I made the pancakes with  3 oz cream cheese,2 packets of stevia, and 2 tbls heavy whipping cream. I ate 3 medium size pancakes and the syrup was sugar free. I know I used more of it than I should have, but a measurement, well I don't know and lots of land O Lakes butter. I also had 2 pieces of bacon. What do ya think? Remember I am still learning this new way of eating.  :)

I don't have access to the ingredients for the peanut butter fudge that is on this forum. I found this one and wonder if you could tell me if it's ok.

peanut butter fudge

1 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened
1  cup smooth peanut better
1  cup butter
1/2 cup powdered artificial sweetener
1/2 tsp vanilla

In a microwave bowl heat the cream cheese, peanut butter, and butter until the butter is melted. Wisk the mixture well. Blend in the sweetener and vanilla. Pour the fudge mixture into an 8x8 dish. Cover and refrigerate until firm then cut into squares.

General Questions / question for Doug
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:04:48 PM »
I purchased the cookbook and tried to download it twice. Said it would download that there was a problem with the content. Can you tell me what I need to do to get it? I was going to put it on my nook the second time but didn't have that option. So I was going to download it to my computer with no luck. Please let me know what I need to do. Can I get a refund if I can't get it downloaded?

Thanks for the information. Where can I buy the GG Bran Crispbread? I haven't found them. I like spinach but the only way I have cooked it is boiling it. How do you cream the spinach. I to believe in natural stuff. I am 60 years old and only take a low dosage of high blood pressure medicine. Do you have any recipes for the foods you listed. I am brand new to this and I am still trying to get it all figured out.

Also I have been seeing some things on a high fat, low carb diet is there anything to this? I'm wanting to learn everything I can about all of this.

 All help is greatly appreciated.

Meal Plans / Re: I need some input on my meal

Thanks Doug, I didn't know if it was too few carbs or not. There is no way I could have eaten anymore than that. Is it normal to feel sluggish? I started on the first and today I am feeling really tired and feel like I don't want to do anything. Is that a normal feeling?

Doug, thank you for the information. I have the red book and I'm hoping to pick up the one that has the carb count in it. I eventually want to get all of them. I know it's going to take time for me to learn it all but I know I have a support system on here. Thanks for this site and I will be checking in often.

Meal Plans / I need some input on my meal
« on: January 02, 2014, 09:21:12 PM »
I would like to have some input on my meals for today.

Breakfast
      2 eggs    0 carbs
2 slices of turkey bacon 0 carbs
      16 oz water

mid morning  snack
1/2 oz bbq pork rinds    0 carbs
1 mild cheddar string cheese  0 carbs
     drank 16 oz water

Lunch
1 slice of American cheese   0 carbs
1/4 cup pecans (that's the only kind of nuts I had)  2 carbs
      16 oz unstweet tea

Dinner
1/2 roasted chicken seasoned with butter injection, mccormick meat tenderizer
and Luizanne Cajun seasoning. 0 (not including seasonings)
1/2 cup boiled cabbage seasoned with 2 tbls butter, salt and pepper  1 1/2 carb
      16 oz unsweet tea

snack 1/2 cup strawberry jello  0 carb
topped with redi whip  1 carb

My husband does most of the cooking so the amounts ingredients used on the chicken I have no idea how much.

I am new to this so if I calculated everything right I have figured 5 carbs for the whole day. This doesn't include the ingredients for the chicken. Please comment on if I have done this right or not and what I need to do. Thanks for your input.

General Discussion / Re: Eat Fats, Cut Carbs to Reclaim Your Skinny Self
« on: January 02, 2014, 01:56:09 PM »
This has been an answer to my prayer. I first bought the book in February of 2013 and was excited but soon became discouraged. I picked up the book again yesterday and I'm praying that God and Fat to Skinny will help me lose the much needed weight this time.

I am so discouraged about my weight.   :( I have your book, Fat to Skinny and have read it thru. I gave it to my husband and told him to scan thru the book because he won't sit and read the whole thing. I highlighted things that will help him to help me. My problem is that I don't know how to put menus together. If I had someone to get up meals for me for the week would be great. I had tried nutri-system for that very reason. It was all planned out for me. I am a simple cook, I just need help for a couple of weeks until I can get the hang of it. If anyone wants to take on that task and help me out I would love it. I get really confused about what to put together to make the meals for a day to stay under 20 carbs. Please someone help me out. I really want to succeed this time.

General Discussion / Just started this program
« on: February 18, 2013, 09:46:07 PM »
I just started reading the book - Fat to Skinny Fast and Easy. I have learned a lot about sugar and ALL the foods that contain sugar that I didn't realize. I thought WOW! no wonder I haven't been about to lose. I am excited about losing weight with this program. Please any advice anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I have got to get rid of the midset that if it doesn't start coming off after a couple of days that I might as well forget it. This is where my mental state is. I really need help.  :(
