General Discussion / Re: Another question
« on: July 19, 2014, 03:23:40 PM »
Thanks Tony and Umpa, yes I drive a school bus:) it's only happened a couple of times on the bus but I was parked with no kids on it. I know my days are numbered with the school bus. Maybe 2 or 3 more yrs. Tops. My husband's uncle has what I do in both eyes and is legally blind. The "dr.s" say weight loss will help. Because of the weight pressure on the spine. And also that I have the eyes of a 60yr. Old and I'm 41.

General Discussion / Another question
« on: July 19, 2014, 06:59:07 AM »
HBut guys. I'm just full of questions aren't I? But I don't know if you guys remember or not, But i have what's called a psudo tumor. It's Basicly a fake tumor. The dr.s say it's benine? (Or however you spell it!:) there's a mass behind my neck & the spinal fluid goes up & only about half way down. Therefore clogging my ears & giving me vertigo. Here lately, I've been drinking coffee not a whole lot, maybe 1 & a half cups but this morning! As with the vertigo, the room started spinning & I felt nauseated & dripping with sweat! Coffee never had that effect on me before? I still feel weak but the room stopped spinning. I hate these episodes. Guess I gotta give up coffee too!:(

No I'm not hungry at all. Just seems to always go back to food. Mainly if I'm bored. So I try to stay busy.

General Discussion / Tonight Was Hard
« on: July 16, 2014, 09:04:12 PM »
Hey guys:) for some reason tonight was especially hard. I've noticed at night, a couple hours before bedtime, I wanted carbs! Not even sweets, just carbs! lol...you know extra large pizza, it didn't matter:) but rest assured, I did not cave. I may have bent a little on wanting it, but I stood my grounds. Lol...it's always before bed while watching tv. Or even cleaning in the evening, you know how the mind wanders? But I'm currious? Why does it always wander to food?! I took the edge off by filling up my jug that I use for the bus and filled it full of water and a couple of drops of that stuff you use to flavor water with & it worked! I am so glad I didn't cave. I even told my husband, I'm not even hungry. & he's like it's just cause you're bored. I said I guess so. It's a hard thing to fight through! But I did it:)

I introduced f2s to our 18yr. Old this afternoon. Boy he was not happy with me at all! And asked:) "why do we have to do this "stuff"again?" I sat down & told him it was for your health & I kinda threw in, you wanna beat ma at her game don't you and to loose weight and feel better right? He said begrudgingly:) yeah...then later after I made him a lettuce wrap sandwich he informed me that it wasn't that bad! Lol...One win!

@Tony; you cannot be more right & not just in the food department. It's her personality. But I'm a fighter. I've had to deal with many life issues (as we all have) the worst being my mom passing away in 2012. And I never thought I would be able to handle that. Yes there are some days when I really want to pull my hair out:) but I have learned that in God's will all things are possible. Thank yall:) for your support, it means alot!

Lol...Tony this has been a battle with her on "Everything." So what's one more? I'm used to the arguing and discord that's in the house. It should be this way, especially when it comes to our health. I just keep remind myself what Doug said. I can't change her, but by god I will go down fighting for myself and my family. Go ahead & let her make her carbs. (They're not even food to me they're carbs & like you said poison.) I will not give in to her anymore. And thank you Tony for the prayers:) gonna need them. But it's her against me & she ain't gonna win!:)

General Discussion / Now For Our 18yr. old!
« on: July 15, 2014, 10:24:28 AM »
I've been carb free, well under 20 carbs:) and to be honest, under 20 carbs isn't all that hard, with a little:) motivation. So I've been procrastinating with our 18yr. Old mainly because he has learning problems. I m h (intellectually mentally handicapped) and Does Not like change. And will fight (not really but you know) the change. But I have to do it. He is type 2 diabetic. Lord I know he is gonna fight us on this change. But we both know it has to be done. If I can do it, he can do it also! It's a shame. We can all change except the mil. She's right & we all are wrong. Even with the weight I've been loosing. She is still in denial.
Fyi; :) we talked to a loan officer on a house! It's still going to be a very very long process, but we're starting to get all our ducks in a row to see what we pre qualify for! *fingers crossed!*

@morgan, I feel ya. Even before the mil had the lap ban and wasn't skinny she was eating sweets etc. & we've been trying for years to get her to eat right. I would rather loose weight this way than with surgery!

@susie. I would be too! I don't like throwing up. She's only allowed to eat salads with the lap ban & whenever she eats anything sweet or breaded she throws up. It's supposed to be a "learning tool" but I think she's actually taking advantage of it!:(

@Morgan; since she had the lap ban done yes. Not anorexic skinny but skinny. & she's just stubborn! She will not change for us at all! But like Doug said I can't make her change but I can! And I lost another pound today! *insert happy dance here!" & trust me! Even if I just loose one pound, I make sure I let her know! Lol... I haven't had any sugar (trust me! I'm watching what I eat & why I'm eating like a hawk!:) in two weeks! & the weight is coming off like crazy! I went from 208 to 202 in two weeks!:)
