question... is it normal?
« on: August 31, 2010, 12:46:43 PM »
Hi all.

So I finally received my book yesterday and I am almost done. I love that its so reader friendly..

I started last week by changing things here and there. My family has also adapted pretty well.

I have noticed that in the last 3 to 5 days that I am not really getting hungry and some times at night, I just don't eat.  Don't get me wrong, I am happy because I also don't crave the sugars.  I am somewhat battling the mental part of it just because that is a demon on its own but overall doing well.  I haven't weighed myself since Aunt Flow is visiting right now.

Is this normal?

BTW Doug and Umpa: its so nice to get your personal attention in this.. Most people just write a book and so be it, but here, I can talk directly to the writer and that is a HUGE BONUS in my book especially since he has lived it himself so there is no BS going on.

 :) ;) :D ;D :P :-*

Alex, that is exactly right! Don't eat if you're not hungry. I didn't eat dinner last night, either. It paid off, too, when I weighed myself this morning. My body fed itself off the reserves...so to speak.  I've jokingly said for years that I am like a camel. I could go for days without eating and my body would have plenty....Little did I know how right I was! : )

Owensmath is correct....now that the cravings are gone true hunger will become evident to you when needed and if you're not hungry don't eat... I go many days without ever eating anything except brunch or a later lunch....simply not hungry. You wouldn't put gas in your car if it didn't need it would you?

Last year Sherri and I met a licenced wolf breeder and we were surprised to find out that wolves only eat once a week! Now, I'm not suggesting that you only eat once per week or that you starve yourself....actually the opposite, LEARN your body and go with your own personal feeding cycles AND only eat as much food (a little at a time) to satisfy the actual need. We eat way too much food for our needs in this country and you see where it's gotton us  :o

Hi I bought the book acouple of months ago  I was doing great then I had company.  She is gluten free.  Everynight when I came home she had dinner ready which was nice but not fat to skinny friendly.  She left for Austrailia about 2 weeks ago and I am trying again.  My huband has Lupus and does not eat like I am but is supportive.  He thinks he needs foods that I am trying not to eat.  Each day is a new day.  anyway  I lost and now I am Stuck.  It seems I am going nowhere but I am grateful I am not gaining.  Is it normal to lose than stay the same for a while.  Will I lose again.

how long is "a while"? if its been more than a couple of weeks then you are eating something that you shouldnt be:( hubby needs to open his mind, you can substitute something for almost anything, and in all cases its better for you... and in most cases it even tastes better:) wake up dude :o

I like not having those cravings. I feel more in control.. Last night I made macfoney and well, I wasnt in too it but hubby loved it.. I didnt make it right either so that could be a contributing factor.

Since I started officially this week, I am down from 251 to 247 and that is with my friendly visitor, so I am happy sicne it usually goes the opposite way on the scale.. I am not really going to consider my weight too much until my cycle finishes cause us ladies know what it can do to us.

I also bought Stevia, I do like it better than Splenda.

Another side note, the mind actually gets clearer..  As much as I want fast weight loss, Im ok going slowly and I feel it will help me to keep it off that way.

 :)

I didn't care for the tofu too much, either. BUT, I did take the idea and put chunks of ham with the cheese. I think you could soften up some jicama (Mexican potato) and add it to the mix as well. The whole idea is to get ideas from the recipes and tailor them so that YOU enjoy them. There are substitutions for EVERYTHING!
