I too "fell off the wagon". The past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind and I had no time to plan or prepare food as my dad was in the hospital.Well, he passed away on Wednesday and we had his funeral today.  :'(
I will however "climb back on the wagon tomorrow"
You can do it too!

Joanne  so sorry about your dad yes climb back on & hold on tight . I lost my dad unexceptly & I put on 30 lbs in the first year he was gone . Carbs made me feel better for that very very sad time . If I had have know the carbs were doing it maybe I would have feasted on something else or maybe not I dont know ,but one thing is sure the carbs dont help anything !
Again I am so sorry for your loss ,Jo

Hi Joanne, I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad  :-[ we've been going through similar times here....three weeks days ago my Mom sent me an e mail letting me know the Doc told her and my Dad to prepare his affairs and set up hospice....he was told he'll be gone within 6 months at best. I got his Doctors number and called him. Dads heart at 77 years old is only working at 15% causing all kinds of problems as you can guess. I asked the doc about treatments and he let me know nothing could be done....then I started pushing the doc about heart transplants, valve replacements, heart pumps etc.... The end result....48 hours later my Dad was transferred to Brigham in Boston which is one of the best heart hospitals in the country. They stabilized him, reconfigured his meds, analyzed him for the proper mechanical device and determined he needs a special "turbo" pacemaker which will be installed on Wed this week coming. right now on a scale of 1-10 he's a 7 and his prognosis is good for a long life. The whole experience has been very draining and we empathise with what you've been going through and what you still must go through. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family, remember....all of us are here for you.

Condolances from Doug and Sherri   :'(

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers

Doug, your dad is in one of the best hospitals around here as I'm sure you know.
My dad was in South Shore hospital in Weymouth and he received great care there too.
I will be thinking of him and sending prayers for him & you & yours too

Thanks Joanne, and thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers...Dad's a tough old bird and I have a real problem accepting anything but success. Sooooo, put that in concert with the fabulous doctors and technology at Brigham, add some prayers and BAM!!! I expect good results tomorrow when Dad gets his new turbo pace maker. He's already come a long way from where he was a few short weeks ago... Thank the Lord!  8)
