Scott in Florida - 6 weeks
« on: October 13, 2010, 07:51:53 AM »
Oh no, a plateau!

Actually a gain of a few ounces this week.  Can't explain it, but I would have been very surprised if it didn't happen at some point.

Even though I like seeing that number go down each week, hitting a plateau doesn't really matter in the long run.  I'm not working at this to fit into a particular shirt, or to look trimmer at a certain event.  This is a lifestyle change, and if I keep doing the right things the weight will get closer to where I want it to be.

How do YOU guys handle the inevitable plateau?

Good attitude Scott . I hope to handle it the same way you just did . This was my 3rd time staring FTS because if I did not lose alot  like some of the guys that is how I measured my success , I know now that was wrong as long as we do what we are supposed too it will happen ,maybe slower then we want but it WILL HAPPEN !

Hang in there Scott!!!

Your head is EXACTLY in the right place!
As long as you abide by F2S's simple rules, your body will have no choice but surrender to your will and lose fat.

Umpa's absolutely correct about plateaus.
As our bodies drop fat, our metabolisms need time to re-adjust to dealing with less body fat.
During most plateaus, you will lose inches here and there rather than pounds.

When I hit a plateau, I pull out the measuring tape and find I've lost about an inch (or more) here and there. It makes me feel just as good as seeing the scale's numbers drop.
