End of week 1
« on: October 12, 2010, 10:16:18 AM »
Well the end of week 1 is here and I dropped 7.5lbs, not bad for starting out and not managing portions very well, I will be working on that in week 2, still using the giant dinner plates, I think I will go with smaller plates, I just can't see myself weighing everything out at every meal.

Congratulations David!!!  :) :) :) :) :)

I bought a digital food scale to measure my food when I started F2S.

As time goes by, I weigh foods less and less.
In time, you too will develop a good "eye" for portions and only need to weigh foods that you do not eat very often.
What you do today is what matters!

KEKE,

The veggies can be more than 1/2 cup (especially the ones with very low carbs like 2 or less like lettuce).
Veggies give you many vitamins and minerals you need but not found in most high protein food.
You just need to watch out for the net carb count over your day.

You do want to be more careful with animal fats (like found in meat).
Too much is not good for you.
That's why Doug limits us to 6 oz. per serving (more if we're still hungry after a 15 minute wait).
This all leads to more well balanced healthy low carb meals.

I use the scale for other things too!

For example, when I'm experimenting with a new recipe, it helps me from eating more than the 20 net carb a day limit.

Hi David!

Welcome to the group, and congratulations on a great start!  I was looking at your ticker, and it looks like you and I started at almost the same identical weight and similar goals.  I started on a Wednesday (Sep 1) and post my progress here every Wednesday morning.  Tomorrow will be 6 weeks for me and I hope to be around 20 pounds lost.  You're on your way!

Check in here regularly, this is a great source of support and answers to your questions.

Scott

Way to go David! You must feel great!  ;D
KeKe you can have the skin as long as it does not have breading or sauce(unless its low sugar) ;)
