cauli rice for rice QUESTION?

If my recipe calls for 1/2 cup of rice
                              1/2 cup of water
Do I use the 1/2 cup of cauli rice
                  1/2 cup of water
 DoI need more cauli rice then regular rice keep water delete water ,What do I do ?????
 I will but the whole recipe

  Texas Hash
1lb hamburger meat cooked & drained
1/2 tsp chilli powder
16 oz can of diced tomatoes 10.5c
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup rice 1.5c-cauli rice
1/2 cup onions 5c
1/2 cup green peppers 3c

Cook meat & drain add onions / peppers & chilli powder stir for a few min.
Preheat oven for 375 put in cassarole dish cook for about 30 minutes or till juice has cooked away.

Will the rice be to mushy in the dish should I fry the rice a little first ?

I dont know about the rice but that's gonna be pretty high carb. I would cut the tomatoes back to half a can or something.

Beebs it makes 4-6 servings  so that would be 3-5 carbs a serving . I guess I could use the Marinara sauce it would be a little less . I was mostly wondering if the cauli rice would turn out to mushy

I would'nt use any water at all. Put the recipe together as prescribed minus the water AND the raw cauli rice. Place it in the oven for 20 minutes then pull it out....now mix in the raw cauli rice and place it back into the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes. This way the cauli rice won't turn into mush.

You need to cut the veggies in half Jo.Way too many carbs for one meal.You could probally get the same flavor of the tomatoes using chunky salsa. ;)

I am an expert at Texas Cooking! My family is in San antonio,Houston and Austin.I should probably post my fajita recipe .Yum! ;)
