potato in Corned Beef and cabbage
« on: November 20, 2010, 02:23:28 PM »
I need an answer pretty quick if anyone is around right now.  Will the starch from the potato in a crock pot simmering with the corned beef and cabbage add carbs?
Peace and blessings,

IzzeT

If you are not eating them trace. If they are falling apart you might get a little more.
And if I claim to be a wise man. It surely means that I don't know... Kansas

That's a good point.  I think when you are doing maintenance it is OK to have a little taste of things,,,for example when we are having spaghetti and meat balls I only eat the meatballs but if a little bit of the sauce gets on I'm OK with that.  (I put the meatballs in a low carb wrap with Parmesan cheese.  Meatball sandwhich)

I think you should get hubby to replace the potatoes with jicama.Potatoes release starch, which is a thickening agent. And starches are loaded with carbs. This is only my opinion, I am sure doug will chime in on this. :D
