« on: January 03, 2011, 12:21:55 PM »
Since I'm still recuperateing from an accident I can't get into the grocery store so my hubby is doing the shopping...I put light fat free Yoplay vanilla yogurt on my list and then was schocked to see the carbs/sugar and am not eating it. I was wondering if you can reccomend a particular  brand or type of yogurt ? I'll have him check labels in the store next time or is yougurt simply not loqw in carbs ?...I wanted to expand my desserts from jello/reddi whip :)

Hi Bella!  :)

I eat a store-brand low-carb yogurt that has 3 net carb grams per container.
My wife found it when I was first starting F2S and was having digestive distress during sugar detox.

Have your husband check your local grocers and look for a yogurt that is low in carbs (=<4 per serving) AND is sugar free.
Almost all the carbs in yogurt come from added sugar.
If you live near a number of larger grocers, I would imagine at least one of them would have some.

To expand your low-carb dessert menu, check this forum's "Recipe Exchange > Desserts and Sweets" section for ideas. There are also many web sites that have good low-carb dessert recipes (many of them very easy).
Just Google "Low carb dessert recipes". You will also find sites that sell low-carb dessert foods.
What you do today is what matters!

Yeah!  I had pretty much written off yogurt as an option. Thanks for the info.
Peace and blessings,

Oh wow -- I didn't even realize they made a low-carb yogurt. I've always eaten Yoplait Light, but that has way too many carbs, so I've avoided it completely. I'll keep my eyes open -- thanks!
