It's a great substitute for rice as it will pick up the flavors of the other ingredients used in the recipe....just as rice does. It also has a similar texture to rice. The missing "thing" your family is referring to is the starch. Of course it's the starch that makes you fat. If they had been brought up eating caulirice vs grain rice they would hate the grain rice :)

My Cauli rice was good of course the OTHER people in the house said it does not taste like rice . I said "well it is the only rice in the house like it or lump it baby  ".


LOL... I like that joagain.. Well now that I see the grater that can be used, I will try making it.. I tried in my magic bullet but it didnt come out right. I loooooove couscous and would like something close to that and I think that caulie rice will be it..

 ;D ;D had cauli rice for tea with diced chicken thing..our matthew(my eldest son) cooked it..it was lovely..but i don't think the sauce was lowcarb that he put on chicken...x

The cauli rice takes on the flavour of what you have it with.  I have used it for stuffed peppers, cabbage roll casserole, and with my chicken stir fry over top.  I think eating is a visual thing.  If it looks like the real thing our mind accepts it, and our stomach doesn't care, as long as it has food.

Welcome to the forum  darpar62.i am umpa dougs wife.I have a column on the homepage called ask umpa where I can convert your favorite recipes to fat to skinny friendly.The ginger cauli rice on the sushi video is my favorite.Its the same consistency and texture as regular rice and like shihtzumom says like regular rice it soaks up whatever you put on it.
