RESULTS?
« on: April 24, 2010, 08:16:51 PM »
WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO SEE RESULTS? JUST FEELING A LITTLE DISCOURAGED! I'VE BEEN GIVEING IT MY ALL, WE COMPLETLEY CHANGED OUR EATING HABBITS, PEOPLE AT WORK OFFER ME ALL KINDS OF TASTEY TREATS AT LUNCH, TWINKIES, CHOCOLATE CHUNK, COOKIES, BROWNIES, AND I PROMISE I'VE BEEN REALLY GOOD AND HAVEN'T HAD ANY OF IT! AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S TAKEN FOREVER TO SEE ANY RESULTS! HOW LONG DOES IT USUALLY TAKE?
THANKS,
STEPHANIE

Don't be discouraged Steph, everyone is different. Are you enjoying the way you're eating? Is the food tasty? Enjoy it, stay under 20 carbs per day and don't worry. There's no going back now and I promise you if you're staying under 20 per day the weight WILL come off.

How is the rest of the family doing, husband, son ?

You are good!  I would have pulled the cheese, meat and veggies off the pizza and eaten it.

Hi Doug! We're all doing good! We were just a little discouraged. I know it took us so long to put the weight on, and it'll take a while to take it off. We were just wondering ;DWe LOVE all the different kinds of recipies, and the variety! We'll hang in there! Like I said, I've given up sugar. Aint no way I'm going back!
Thanks for the encouraging words!!,
Stephanie

Hi Steph, the next thing I want you to take a look at is portion sizes. Be honest and recognize wether your portion sizes are too large. You do this by following the 15 minute rule. I also want you to re-read the "When should you eat" chapter in the book and go through the exercise I outlined for you....it's time to get serious :)

Hey Doug. I understand what you're saying as far as portioning, and really, I have been portioning. When I work, latenights, I take with me
the Hormel, Completeats, dinners. It's got 28 carbs in them, no sugars, but at work, I honestly do a lot of running around constantly. Depending on how much overstock we have, sometimes I go up and down a flight of stairs, sometimes for 2hrs. straight. So I do get my share of excersize ;D!! I think it's worse than a gym actually! (at least I don't have to wait in line to use the equipment?!)What's your opinion?
Thanks Doug!
Stephanie

BINGO! I knew there was something going on with you that would become obvious over time. You're not following the program and that's why you're not dropping weight. Remember the golden rule Steph, no more than 20 net carbs per day in total can go into you body. You've been sabotaging yourself every night when you eat a Hormel compleats. Everyone of their meals exceeds your allowable count for the day and you haven't included any other food, drinks or snacks that you've taken in. Steph, if you want to succeed you must drop the net carbs to 20 or under per day. I suggest you go back to the book and look in the recipe section. Prepare your own food and lunch box it to work. You can very easily turn each dinner into a zero carb dinner. That way all the running around your doing will burn the FAT not the FOOD as fuel.

Look at the carb counts of the dinners you've been eating below then STOP, same for your husband if he's doing the same.  Remember this simple rule;

Meats and Greens will make you LEAN, Sugar and Carbs will make you LARGE

You have to give yourself over to this completely!!  Anything you used to eat is going to keep the weight on you.If you have a large work load then save a larger portion of your carbs for your lunch break and pack from the list! I run up and down stairs at work as well and trust me I wasnt losing any weight doing it.

There are so many things you could have that have little or no carbs. I am addicted to tuna right now. The good albacore has no carbs or sugar, mix a little mayo and some bacon bits, some crispy lettuce and I am a happy camper. Don't give in...you can do it! Next year at this time we will all be thin and gorgeous and wondering how we ever ate all the junk we use too.  :)
